I got these dishes to use for watercolor palettes, and they work great! I don't eat escargot, so I don't know whether these would be good for that or not. But as a paint palette, it's just right for me because I have limited space to paint in, so the size of these are perfect for me. Now I hope I don't drop one! Since they're ceramic, they will break. They came nicely packaged with bubble wrap around them, in a small box, then in a regular Amazon shipping box. They'd have to be handled REALLY roughly to break during shipping, even when the delivery person just tosses the boxes near the door.

Lovely escargot dishes! These were AMAZING! I utilized them with canned extra large escargot and served with toasted bread points, it was like eating at a French restaurant! I ordered the size 12 in the 2 pack and am happy I did! These will be amazing for dinner parties -- what a fun and unexpected flourish to serve escargot!The divots for the escargot are all spaced nicely and adequately deep to allow for the escargot and butter, each cavity fits about 1.5-2 tsp of garlic butter mix and an extra large escargot, to me the perfect ratio of butter and escargot, there's a small lip on the dish which contains any overfill of butter. These escargot dishes washed nicely and thoroughly to their bright white, there's a glaze on the dishes which helps the porcelain wash with ease. I baked at 350F for 14 minutes with no issues. The dish retained heat while serving for a good while also. Absolutely delicious! 5/5!

My husband used these twice. The last time he went to pick them up both of the handles broke off in his hand. One handle on each dish. We purchased two of them because he wanted to do twelve escargot. Sorry I didn’t take a photo. We threw them both away. So disappointed. They looked so sturdy. Rate them as a minus one.

I thought this would be perfect for an escargot appetizer but the wells are much smaller and more shallow than expected. Buy another brand so you won’t be disappointed.

I'm also here for the paint party lol. I've tried silicone paint palettes before but they don't clean up all the way and stain really easily. I read a review under a silicone palette product that said to go the ceramic palette route. Then I came across these escargot dishes and thought they'd be perfect so I was delighted to read that others were already using them successfully for this purpose. I got the 12 hole size which is big but not too large for my desk. The hole sizes are deep enough so that I can use a good amount of paint and don't have to worry about colors spilling over and mixing. These have some weight to them and feel well made. I think they'd be great as escargot dishes. I gave the second one to my sister who is also an artist and she loves hers as well!

Like a couple of other reviewers, I ordered these to use as paint palettes. They are heavy ceramic and I like that they have feet and handles. The two-pack is very handy as I paint in two mediums, watercolor and gouache. Now I have a palette for each. I don’t know about oven safe but I ran them through the dishwasher and they came out great. I chose the 12 hole option, which are a great value, especially since they come in the two pack. I use them daily and they are a helpful addition to my craft room. I highly recommend them for any use you choose.

The media could not be loaded. I review products for the Amazon vine program and I received this product to review. I do not eat escargot but I thought this might be perfect for small hors d'oeuvres at a party. If you cut your eggs horizontally, this would be perfect for deviled eggs. I could see this for serving meatballs as appetizers. For food presentation there are multiple options. It's fun to use your imagination when presenting food. But as I am dabbling in watercolors, just learning actually, I saw that as perfect for another use. I have been looking for a ceramic pallet to mix watercolors on and this is perfect. That there are two of them makes it even better. I want you to know that this washed up perfectly and they were no stains at all. No sign that watercolors were used at all. It looked a brand new when I washed off the watercolors. I can put it in the dishwasher now and then use it for hors d'oeuvres next time around. To be honest, I'll probably just use this for my painting. I think this is a great product. It is well-made and the ceramic is heavy and durable. I hope the sellers don't mind my using this for another use, watercolor paints. Honestly if it catches on, they may sell more of these to be used for watercolor pallets than they do for escargot plates. Either way this is a great product and I highly recommend it!

This is marketed as an Escargot Dish but I got these for painting. I use liquid watercolors and these dishes make the perfect palette for mixing paint. This is well weighted and it cleans beautifully.I love that you get two dishes. For anyone using this for its purpose, this allows for a dinner dish for two. For artists: this works beautifully for using your paint without having to use so much at a time. The recesses in the dish are perfect for keeping paint moist for your full session without drying out as quickly as using a typical palette.I fully recommend these for artists and calligraphers!
