Great product, great company
I nabbed one of these during the black Friday sales. I'd been meaning to for a while, as the water at my work is horrible. I don't know if the pipes are bad or what, but it always tastes like a weird combo of pool water and dirt. This bottle has absolutely solved that and makes me feel a lot better about drinking tap water! It works so well that I had forgot i filled it up at work one day and only realized later when I was thinking the water was really good, haha. The 2-stage filter works. The main part of the lifestraw filters particles down to bacteria and gets 99.99-something percent of them. This part of the filter lasts a very long time. The smaller activated carbon filter at the top is what gets the stuff that tastes bad. These need to be replaced more frequently. However, I've had mine a bit over a month and use it daily. I haven't noticed a change in taste yet, so I reckon I've got a fair bit longer before it needs replaced.I like the way the bottle looks, and the new design with the cap and handle is very convenient. Everything is threaded, which makes disassembling and cleaning the bottle very easy. There's not much to complain about!Last, LifeStraw is a company that helps people, and I'm glad to spend my money with a company that does some good with it.Edit: Still a daily use item for me nearly 7 months later. I just now have noticed that I need to change the charcoal filter out. Pretty impressive life!

Great for trekking
The size (1L) was perfect for trekking and having enough water for the day or until you can find a water source.I used to use potabilizing tablets, but after few days of drinking treated water, I always got an upset stomach. From now on, this bottle will be coming with me on every adventure.Several times I have refilled the bottle with lake/river water that did not look in great condition (sediments, small bugs, algae...) and not once got sick or the water tasted off.I researched for days to try to find the best option for this kind of devices and finally decided to give a go to this one, and during my recent trip to Nepal, I found out that about 50% of the people trekking was using this same brand, on different models (lifestraw, CamelBak with lifestraw, etc.).It is true that you have to apply some pressure when sucking for the water to come out, but it is minimal and does not affect your experience. The filters are easy to remove, clean and replace, and all the materials are of high quality.Unintentionally I dropped the bottle couple times from quite a height, and other than some superficial scratches, nothing got damaged.I recommend 100% this item to all my fellow travelers.
