I added this to the SJoyBring D006. Connection to the radio was easy with just one wire and AV connection. The issues came at the tailgate end. Picture quality isn’t crystal clear but you can clearly see everything when backing up including the hitch. Wasn’t expecting 4k so I’m happy with it. I had to drill a hole at the bottom of the tailgate to run the wire straight down. Wire from camera is just long enough to exit the bottom witch is needed if you want to access the plug to remove the tailgate later on. The plug and and wires looked a bit flimsy so I heat shrinked them to add more support and added electrical grease in the plug to make it water tight. Wiring instructions weren’t clear for the camera end. You have a red wire with fuse, green wire and black wire. The red wire provides power to the camera and should be connected to the reverse light wire. The black is the ground. The green wire runs the length of the harness to the radio end. This wire needs to be connected to the reverse wire with the red wire to the camera. This is how the radio knows the vehicle is in reverse and to activate the radio screen. The green wire needs to be connected to the backup camera wire on the radio wiring harness. The yellow AV cable was a bit loose when plugged into the radio so I crimped the sides a bit to make it snug. Overall I’m happy with camera. It gives the truck a factory look and clear enough picture for a backup camera. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars First Camera Bad, Replacement Good. Instructions and Wiring Harnesses Suck! *by K***B on Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2022* I’m giving this item two stars and adding 1 back for Amazon’s quick replacement of the original, defective camera. If Master Tailgaters (MT) had proper QC and a consistent product, I would give it five stars. Unfortunately, they don’t and you will pay a price for their oversight.Bought this item because the price was right and it was the only backup camera that had an “OEM Look” for my venerable 2000 Silverado. I did not want a license plate camera or a surface mount that I would have to find a creative way to install. The MT tailgate handle looked ideal and I was excited to get it.I found the tailgate fitment to be very good. Other reviewers have noted issues in this area so I had concerns prior to installation. The bezel was solid, the cabling was the perfect length, and the connector was small enough that it exited the bottom of my tailgate without issue (no drilling or bending of metal required). This part of the install was a snap.Next came the video/power connections. The harness that came with (defective) Camera # 1 (C1) had green and black wires on the tailgate end of the cable + a fused red wire. The cab end had an RCA video connector and same green wire (no red wire). I deduced that the grn/blk wires were the reverse circuit. The instructions stated this would power the camera. Not true. No mention was made of the red wire. With the reverse circuit and video connections done, the display would switch to the camera feed (grn trigger) but the screen was black. Decided the red wire was important despite not being mentioned so I connected this to 12V but still no joy. Tried Amazon’s tech support option but they were as much in the dark as I was so they sent a replacement camera.Camera # 2 (C2) showed up and I connected it to the truck with and without red wire power. Learned red wire power is required and C1 was defective. Note that harness # 2 was different than the first one and still didn’t match the instructions. Upon seeing C2 work, I had to run ANOTHER cable from tailgate to cab to connect to switched power! Had I known this the FIRST time, it would have saved me a lot of time, aggravation, and very colorful language. Since it is required, it SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THE HARNESS!NOTE: WHAT YOU GET IN THE BOX IS INSUFFICIENT TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION!Thanks MT. You’re just…special.Other reviewers have commented on image quality. The resolution of the working camera looked like garbage when I tested it on an HDTV. Sorta Minecraft-ish. However, the image quality on my Kenwood Excelon head unit is fine and I have no complaints on this front.Bottom line: Buyer beware. Assuming you get a functional camera, you can make it work with some effort and the result is satisfactory. Getting from A to B is the challenge.
