Use while on a solo vacation in Bermuda and it kept the contents cool, and it didn't leak when the ice in it melted. It also has lots of different compartment so I appreciated that.

This is a very nice insulated backpack that not only keeps water from leaking, but also keeps water from getting inside. There's 5 layers of insulation, with a waterproof layer on the outside.The top has a zippered compartment in the middle that's the length and width of the top for your phone, portable charger, etc. The main compartment is one open area that's padded and insulated. There's a good amount of room, but I don't think it will fit 42 12oz. cans; 36 cans, stacked in 3 levels of 12 would fit, and have room for ice packs. Other than cans, you can fit a decent meal for several people comfortably.On the front is a double zipper pocket with elastic velcro straps for dishes, and there are web loops on the zippered flap for silverware. Once it's zippered closed, there's a flap with buckle clips to keep it closed.There's a heavy duty web strap on the top, and one on the top of both sides, for carrying. On one side is a large mesh pocket, and on the other side are 4 heavy-duty web loops to clip things on.I own a couple insulated backpacks, and this is the nicest one, by far.Would definitely recommend.

This cooler backpack is much more comfortable to carry that the average cooler and fits enough cans/bottles/food for a day at the beach or a picnic for 2-3 people. Completely leak-proof with solid zippers - my food and drinks stay cool for hours. Very well made with thick straps, this high-quality cooler is perfect for just about anyone and keeps my hands free for carrying other things (like my camera). The cutlery compartment is a nice addition and gives me a place to store my utensils without risking damage to the insulated section of the bag. Highly highly recommend!

I was happy to find a backpack cooler that does a good job but leaves me some money to actually buy something to put in it too. This cooler holds a bunch of drinks (or food) along with ice packs (we haven't used ice but I bet water would stay inside the cooler instead of seeping). I like the extra pockets for koozies, straws, etc. The straps would be handy to carry a beach or lawn blanket too. While it can be heavy when fully loaded, it remains fairly comfy for shorter walks to a venue or sports field. It works for small grocery trips to keep frozen items well, frozen for the trip home too.
