WATCHING BREAD TOAST!
Love this! What a difference it makes watching bread brown! Can pop out without guessing.... cos you can see how brown it's getting! Nice looking toaster as well!

Even toast all over
Much prefer these filaments as you get a much more even toast. My one complaint is that even though the opening is wide, I still have to cut a slice of the side of my bread to get 2 slices of bread in side by side

The toast with the most
The box it comes in is quite large and so is the toaster so be sure you have the room. I don't really have the room but I found it for this toaster because it looks cool and I like toast. I really like the style and look of this. It looks so cool! But how does it toast? Really well and bread fits in here much better than my old cheap toaster. I really enjoy bagels and crumpets. Those were a big of a squeeze and squash but here with the wider slot there is no problems! Fits great! Lots of toasting doneness options ( I always choose most toasty ) and it always comes out even and well toasted. I have had this for a month now and so far no problems.

Bread doesn't fit, only one slot!
You can only toast 1 slice at a time, if you put in 2 slices they overlap and don't toast.Terrible, looks really nice though but not practical and not worth the price! Returning.

Fantastic to have a stylish toaster that toasts evenly
I was very impressed at the appearance of this 2-slice toaster when it was unboxed as it, quite frankly, looked like a piece of modern art in my kitchen compared to the more conventional, box-like, 2-slice toasters that we've had in the past.A glass window on one side enabling the toasting process to be easily monitored without having to lift the toast up, plus the lack of wires going up/down or horizontally across each side of the slot was so different. Surely this wouldn't work? Plugging it in for it's initial "burn-off" showed two bars at the bottom that glowed, but this seemed as if it would just burn the bottom of the bread and leave the top raw, surely?Anyway, we decided to test it by putting one slice of thick-sliced ordinary supermarket bread (the ones with square slices) side-by side with a slice of medium-sliced wholemeal bread (mentioning no names, but it's the brand with the famous advert with the boy and his bike going up Gold Hill in Shaftesbury) that's the traditional "tall" shape. This latter brand of bread often causes trouble with toasters as the top sticks out if it's put in upright and so doesn't toast, and if you put it in sideways, either the slot isn't wide enough or it has to be forced in so you get curled toast! With this Longdeem toaster, the two slices of (frozen) bread fit in side-by-side very easily with room to spare, and the "tall" slice fit in perfectly. We tried setting the control to roughly 2½ + defrost, but this wasn't quite enough for our liking, so we put it back using the "reheat" setting and they both came out perfectly toasted - very evenly coloured on both sides and just the perfect level of brownness for our tastes. It was interesting to watch the bread toasting - it seemed ages before the colour started to appear, but grown adults watching two slices of toast changing colour through a glass window was a first for us both!We don't often have the wide, flatter, round loaves such as sourdough, but when we have had them in the past, we've had to cut slices in half to get them in the toaster. With this toaster, we wouldn't need to - much more civilised! - plus we'd be able to have nice thick slices as the slot in this toaster is pretty wide.I really have nothing negative to say about this toaster - it takes two thick slices of bread side-by-side and cooks them beautifully whilst being a smart and stylish addition to the kitchen. What more could I ask?
