So far, I have only experienced "normal" operations of this kit, so I cannot speak to the charger's ability to detect faulty batteries, out-of-tolerance power, or excessive temperatures.The batteries seem to hold their charge an acceptable amount of time before they need to be recharged. I have not owned the kit long enough to know how well the batteries and charger will perform after extended use, but will update the review as needed.Good product, overall.

If you use a lot of AA batteries this rechargeable battery kit is for you. This comes with 8 AA batteries (I misplaced 2 somewhere) and a recharging station that is powered by a USB C port or Micro USB. The recharging station have light indication when a battery is charging, fully charged, or damaged which is very very helpful. The slots are a little tricky when first trying to understand how to charge them but a picture in the instructions are helpful and the lights also indicate if you have put the battery in the right place.So far my batteries have last long enough they have not needed to be recharged since getting this product which I am grateful for, and I have several batteries to spare when I need them. I think this is a great alternative than constantly buying batteries. They work great for my gaming controllers, kid toys, tv remotes, camping lights, etc. Have had no problem with them working with whatever device I put them in. Highly recommend!

Initial charge was straightforward. It feels slightly odd to get them inserted, but you figure out quickly the spacing between each one. Handy batteries for use in game controllers as you can charge the entire set at once which is pretty cool. I think the price for 8 batteries (and the ability to charge all 8 at once) is pretty good, too. I haven't had them long enough to comment on long-term longevity (after many discharge/charge cycles) but at least for now we're very happy with them. One more note, the indicators on the charger are nice and it's neat that they're per-battery instead of a pair like some others I've had.
