Followed DVD instructions. The tool provided to open the case did not work. In the process of trying to use that tool I cut myself. Had to use screwdriver to get case open. Once I got the old battery out and put the new one in, the battery connector was very difficult to seat. The unit (Nuvi 2555) did not work with the new battery installed. The only thing of value in this kit is the two little screwdrivers. I kept those, the rest went in the trash.

This battery replacement kit is very easy to use even without the video (but watch it anyway). The instructions are well done and easily understood. The specially tailored tools to open the case work quite well. The lever to pop open the case is a little bit tricky the first time (no fault of the kit; just that the case is designed to be closed securely so obviously, the first time you open it you should use special care not to damage anything). After that, opening the case later becomes easier. Just take your time that first time. (If you want to use this kit to do other repairs to the 2555LMT - such as dislodging an SD card that may be seated improperly - then I recommend instead that you send the unit to a qualified technician to do that level of work). Otherwise, nice kit, fair price, and no complaints.

It’s pretty sad, when you receive a brand new battery, that will not charge, right out of the box. The batteries I’ve received, are total garbage that have been a waste of my time and money. If this is the best Garmin can offer, maybe I should buy a different GPS, from a better company.

had a hard time getting the battery out, and nothing to hold the new battery in place. have yet to try it out. so I really don't know how well it'll perform

I installed it about 6 months ago and it is still going strong. It was fairly easy to do because of the "kit" items that come with it ... and the video on YouTube. I would but this again. If it lasts a full year, I will give it a 5.

It was a good kit, it just didn't fix the issue. The battery wasn't fully charged and the charger on the GPS I had must have gone out, I couldn't even update it. ;( Overall, the kit itself was easy to use, and anyone could follow the user friendly instructions.

It was difficult to get the old battery out as it was glued in. I used a hair dryer to loosen the glue. Once that was done, it was easy to change out. This was all I needed to do to get the GPS working again.

Great kit. Easy to use if you follow the instructions on the video. I watched it once then played it again to follow along with as I was replacing my battery. Unfortunately, that wasn't the problem with my Garmin so I can't tell you if it worked. The tools it came with are a Godsend, let me tell you! It make for an easy task. Would order again. Received on time.

Battery was for my GPS, works perfectly

I have only ever written one other review and it was a positive one for the Ventray masticating Juicer that I bought. This battery died on me within a month. I charged it and dis-charged it to "train" it properly but to no avail. One morning I turned on my Garmin GPS and that was that. It would no longer work without being plugged in. Stay AWAY.
