If you work with SMD components this is a great piece of kit for a sensible price. The temperature control is sensitive enough to work with lower quality PCB materials without causing tracks to lift when attaching AND REMOVING components. It’s also really useful for “precision“ working with heat shrink tubing in confined spaces or close to heat sensitive items where a full size heat gun isn’t an option.

I needed this to replace a HDMI chip on an Xbox one. The product arrived on time and was well packaged. There was no marking on the box, just a generic brown box.The performance was terrible. It says it goes up to 480°C but I’m highly doubting this now. It barely warmed up the solder on the chip, which has known to melt at about 400-450°C.I did manage to finally get the chip off but I’m not going to be using this machine to put it back on. My old Yihua 8786D was better than this rubbish.Thankfully, Amazon being what they are are going to offer me a refund.
