Well Made Math Manipulatives Set
This set of place value dominoes is well made and stores well in the included metal storage box. Each domino is labelled well with no paint or ink running over into the surrounding plastic. The dominoes, when used in the hands of a capable mathematics teacher, can be used to teach the place value concept with kinesthetic teaching aids such as this set of dominoes.Overall, the math students and teachers who have used these place value dominoes have commented that they do help them teach and learn the concepts well. As such, I do recommend it.

Fun idea for math practice
I really liked the idea of having math practice in a dominoes game. Unfortunately, I think my 5yo and 6yo might be a little young for the addition game. The tin says 5+ on the front, but the game didn't really hold their attention for long. Part of the issue may have been that you have to draw a lot of tiles when it's only 2 players. Also, the tiles go from 2 to 24, and there's no way to use only the smaller numbers to make it easier for beginners. Having to do the math for larger numbers can get frustrating for kids who haven't learned how yet.The game pieces are small but readable, and they fit neatly in the small tin. They seem to be made of a glossy cardboard type material, so they're not as durable as regular dominoes. The instructions are on the back of the tin, which is nice so you won't have to worry about keeping paper instructions in the tin. The instructions are pretty short and simple too.I do think this game would be fun for the right age group, just not younger kids, unless they're advanced in math.

Heavy duty learning aides
These flashcards are a great tool to help the kids learn their math skills better. I use these for my students who are a little behind in "getting" it.These are made well and hold up to lots of use. I'm loving that the kids look forward to using these during class!Worth every penny!!!!

Read Stephanie Dougherty's Review
Returned this unplayable "game". Not only is Stephanie Dougherty's review 100% accurate, the tiles are also very small. For the size of the images and the ages this would be for, they really should be larger. This was a huge missed opportunity for this company to make a great learning game. Our son loves playing dominos all the time, so we were really excited about the concept. At least I was able to watch my son properly manage his frustration and keep an open mind about the game until the very end when he spouted, "Wow, this game is really broken. I don't want to play it ever again!" Enough said.

Fun, Cute, FAST!
As a parent, let's face it - your day is busy. This set of cards is a bit of a magical solution to spending some time with your kids, making it fun, AND YES, it's also helping them to learn. Perfect combination, in my opinion! The card game itself is fast. The tiny little "domino-style cards" come in a tin (which is SO helpful for travel or carrying it elsewhere, the box isn't going to squish easily!). They're not very large, but they're printed on glossy sheets over thick cardboard that won't bend easily, has rounded corners, and the pieces are relatively sturdy. The instructions for the game are printed on the back of the tin (which also has rounded corners) so you're not likely to lose them very easily! The only downside on that is that although the top snaps on (yay!) it still kind of feels like since the domino-tiles are loose in there that they won't quite fit until you finally hear the click and breathe that sigh of relief that they did.It says 6+ for ages, and that seems fair. It's a VERY easy game to learn and simply helps with practicing mental math for whatever you are working on (I got multiplication, but the product page also has selections for addition, subtraction, place value, and fractions). I'm actually planning on buying another one. It's that good AND I am a huge fan of the price for this game. Right on target. Love it! :)

Small dominos made of sturdy cardboard. Game rules need minor change.
These come in a nice metal storage tin (although mine had a few minor dents already. ) The dominos themselves are about typical domino size, brightly printed, and clear-coated. They have rounded corners. They are made of dense cardboard. They are sturdy enough to use with respectful students, but if a student decided to fold one in half or spilled water on it, it would be ruined.I ran through several trial games, and I feel that starting with 7 dominos per player and only 1 domino in the center makes the game too slow. You end up doing nothing but drawing for most of the game. That will quickly frustrate players of any age!To get the game moving, I will either divide ALL of the dominos among the players from the very beginning, OR each player gets 7 dominos and we start the game with 3-4 different starting dominos in the center. With a mix of symbols, words, and pictures to represent the fractions, students will have to match different presentations of each fraction to play the game. Another possible way to play would be to match dominos where the tiles add up to one whole. Note that this set does NOT involve reducing to find equivalent fractions! This is a beginner set for someone learning to identify the number concept that fractions represent.
