EISCO 6 Decade Resistance Box - Variable from 0-1,111,110 Ohms

Solid construction with 1% tolerance (more or less, averages out at higher decade values) 1 watt through-hole metal film resistors, high quality selector switches (knobs have a consistent feel with strong detents) on a clean PCB with the solid barrel safety banana jacks mounted to the box. Small silicone feet prevent the box from sliding around while in use.With the occasional use this will last decades (hah!) perfect for hobbyists and perhaps good enough for school labs.Mine did not come with any instructions, would be nice to have a digital copy here.Made in India.

Overall, I really like this Decade Resistance Box. Easy to use, fairly accurate, nicely made. My only small criticism is there is 0.545ohm of added circuitry resistance. This is not an issue with the higher resistance scales mainly on the Rx1 scale (i .e adds 0.545 ohms to 1 ohm=1.545 ohms, 10 ohm=10.545 ohms). The actual resistors utilized seem to be 1% tolerance. You will have these inherent resistances in circuitry (switches, wiring, circuit board etc.) so this should not keep anyone from buying this unit. It is very nice, just wanted people to know this happens and not a reason to return this unit. Capacitance boxes will have inherent small capacitances that typically only effect the very smallest internal capacitors. I recommend this box to anyone needed a decent Resistance Decade Box.

solid little decade box

I needed a decade box for automotive diagnostics, and took a gamble on this one even though it was not listed for said purpose.I am very glad I did. Not only is it accurate, but it is well-constructed and has a vast range of resistances that can be set down to the single ohm, and will take a fair bit of current before it becomes dangerous for the device. The dials are much easier to use than the typical switch bank style for automotive decade boxes, which is a big plus.Additionally, it fits in even low height tool box drawers with no issue, though it is a close fit on the very thin drawers. Would definitely recommend this product to other mechanics.
