It was 8 but it was the worse coffee maker! Luke warm coffee it was really a big coffee maker not small at all. All so no matter how you poured it it spill all over the counter top.I found great small coffee maker a 10 cup at Walgreens its called Living Solutions that one pours perfect and it has a small foot print on counter! Cost only $19.99
