Gerber has been providing knives and tools to the US Armed Forces since World War II. It is a brand that I trust and when I ordered this pan, I had high expectations for quality and functionality.I was not disappointed. This is REAL cookware not stamped cut aluminum formed into a pan. But on the other hand, as such, this is not very lightweight – much more suitable for a “base camp”.This pan is probably suitable for cooking for up to 3-4 max, depending on how much everyone eats.The self-basting lid helps recycle the moisture to cook the food and does a great job of it. The pan’s walls are tall - I feel I could cook a soup in here, no problem. I wish I could lock the lid to the pan – maybe with a rotational slot or something like that.I’m not sure why it says “Hand Wash only”, because it certainly seems like it would have no trouble in a dishwasher.Thanks for reading and hope this helps.

This is a nice heavy stainless steel pan with removable handle. This has to be my favorite pan to cook on when camping. With stainless pans you need to get them hot so they are non stick, being thick and heavy makes this ideal. It is beautiful and durable which will last for a long time.

GERBER Gear ComplEAT Saute Pan⅘ Sturdy stainless steel pan, lid, and removable handle, heats up well and quite evenly. Only downside is that the 3 pieces don’t store in a way that keeps them together (like having the handle hold the lid in the pan for travel), but I understand it’s part of a larger set, so might not be an issue if you have/plan on getting the rest.

This saute pan has definitely exceeded my expectations. This is now my best and favorite pan. It heats up evenly. Cooks everything to perfection an keeps meats moist. It is also easy to clean. I love that the handle is removable. Great saute pan buy it you won't be disappointed. I definitely recommend buying.

For a family of 4, this pan is incredible for our needs, be it at home or when we are out in nature. The pan is made from a high-quality metal that easily withstands being cooked over a gas stove, a grill, and even an open fire. It includes a removeable handle that makes things much easier in certain situations or all around more convenient (DO NOT cook with the handle attached if in the oven, on the grill, or over a fire). The handle is fairly easy to get on the pan but you have to do a final tilt to the right and then the left (or vice versa) in order to make sure that it is latched to the attachment. On a few occasions I have gone to pick up the pan or move it only to find out that the handle wasn’t attached to the pan, even though I slid it all the way down. Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no kind of damage done to the pan or lid either. These are so well constructed!We will be investing in more Gerber Gear pots and pans mainly for camping though I’m sure we will end up using them at home too.

This camping pan is astoundingly excellent quality. I'm so used to camping pots and pans that are so focused on weight savings that they just turn out to be absolute junk. However, this pan is such good quality steel and materials that I've even used it on my kitchen's induction range. I'm just absolutely thrilled with its performance. It spreads the heat out and cooks evenly. My only complaint is that the handle gets tightly secured to the pan, such that if you like to take the handle on and off while over an open flame fire pit, then this pan might cause you problems. It can come off but it requires a little bit of wiggling and perhaps a second hand on the pan. Yet this also means that when the handle is connected it is very solid and doesn't feel wobbly. It might be an expensive pan but it is worth every penny!
