Glad I had purchased these brackets. Bought it for a master bath exh fan during remodel, but found I did not need it. However, when I changed the guest mast bath exh fan, I def needed it (cause you never know what you'll need or find up there)...Helped the exh fan fit like a glove in between overhead joists. Not sure why it's not on the shelves at local stores though.

Fast shipping. It doesn’t come with the screws to fasten the brackets to the joists. Nor does it come with the two screws to secure the two slide pieces to each other.

It wasn't easy getting it inside the ceiling from the room but I eventually got it into place. Install the brackets and then attach the fan. Measure twice to ensure the screw holes are aligned.

Zero complaints from husband who installed our new, heavier and larger Broan bathroom fan which required this Broan MHB4.

This is a much more stable way of mounting the bathroom fan than just fastening on one side to the joist. They are more solid than the Halo light hangers if you have used those before for lighting. I would definitely use these again. They also allow you to flip the mounting direction.
