Good quality coffee
This is a nice variety pack of pre-ground coffee from Tchibo including a light, medium, and dark roast 12oz bag. The freshness upon arrival for me was within two months of the roast date, with a use-by date of one year beyond the roast date. Taste testing was performed on the same day as arrival. The bag quality is ok for these but could use improvements. The CO2 vents are positioned towards the tops of the bags, which means as the coffee is used rolling the bag to reseal it will likely obstruct the vent. There are also no ties included on these bags or interlocks for resealing, so it may be best to transfer the preground contents of the bags to CO2 valve equipped containers if storing the coffee for long periods.Aside from concerns on keeping the coffee fresh, the initial freshness in the provided bags is quite good. Each coffee passed what I call the "squeeze test" where I squeeze the bag to smell what comes out of the CO2 valve. Each roast had a pleasant freshly roasted smell typical of their styles. The light roast has a pleasant light floral aroma with hints of cherry. The medium roast has a more pronounced coffee cherry aroma with hints of toasted oak. The dark roast really comes through on the toasted cherry/dark chocolate/earthy scents without being too overdone. As for flavors, these are decent. The light roast matches up with its aroma well, with a light coffee fruit flavor to it (similar to cherry but without any tartness). Acidity did come out a little high for me with a traditional brew method, but really came out well with a pour-over method where I could control the timing a bit better. The medium has a classic medium flavor coffee body to it. A nice balance of the fruitiness of light, and toasted nature of dark. Being that I am used to more freshly ground coffee (I grind my own beans) I did sense that a little may have been lost already but was still perfectly good/acceptable to me. This is typical of my experiences with preground coffee and did not stand out as unusual. The dark roast I particularly enjoyed, and I am more of a medium roast drinker. The flavor profile of the dark roast had a distinct toasted flavor without losing all of the other complex flavors of the coffee bean it came from. I really enjoyed drinking this even without cream and sugar, a very smooth dark roast with low bitterness.Overall, this is a good quality product. The grind is fairly consistent with low variance. The coffee is flavorful and vibrant months after its initial roasting, so the bags are doing a good job with preserving freshness. My only concern here is the bag design, so if ordering this product, it might be best to have a coffee jar ready to keep the grounds as fresh as possible if not brewing a lot in a short span. It is also not clear which bag is which after removing from their individual boxes, so it might be best to have a marker handy to label each bag if unboxing and keeping them.

Rich tasting coffee
I discovered Tchibo dark roast through a "coupon I couldn't refuse" at the local grocery. I liked it so much I am very glad it is available on Amazon at a very reasonable price.

better than most ground coffee
I've recently become aware of a long-standing coffee company, Tchibo. I very much enjoy their whole bean coffee so I thought I might see what the ground stuff tasted like. Well, it tastes pretty nice. Dark roast coffee which is ground will go off quite quickly, but a light roast is dryer so I'm not surprised that this is pretty good.
