The guidance on APN settings is ambiguous. I was unable to use SIM upon arrival in Tokyo even though it did register on the mobile network. Required WiFi access and Google to resolve problem. Issue was APN type. Need to use "default" and not "internet". Once working, working well with strong signal and good speeds. Non tech people, better to avoid though since no tech assistance.

I tried setting this up in my phone and in a portable wi-fi hotspot but just couldn't get it to work. The credit only lasts a few days so couldn't test it before travelling. A friend in India got me a local SIM card and wi-fi hotspot for very little cost (less than the SIM2FLY), giving me (4G) 5GB per day for 28 days, with unlimited calls and texts. The SIM2FLY was a waste of time and money.

So, the card was tested and worked fine in Japan, South Korea and Singapore. No issues at all in SK & SG.In Japan the activation didn't happen automatically, and I had to try requesting the balance through "Sim tools" --> it said I need to activate with USSD --> I did it, manually entered "internet" APN (that's problem of my phone, it has a wicked Verizon firmware) --> and voila, it works!One card can "travel" across supported countries freely. The card activated in SK worked fine a day or 2 in SG.However, please remember:1) print the product photos from this page before going anywhere, because package has no manual!!! Or ask the seller, they can share nice PDF. You need internet for this though :)2) double-check that your phone is not locked in any way, even if you think it's not. My friend has iPhone which doesn't have any custom firmware and looked perfectly normal, but turned out to be locked to the operator. Obviously, SIM didn't work. If you get message "SIM card is not supported by activation service assigned" - that's it. Not the SIM problem though.3) This SIM doesn't work in any contries except specified — and I mean it doesn't work AT ALL, making the phone run the endless cycle of roaming registration attempts which will drain the battery VERY quickly. Again, it's not the problem of the SIM, just make sure to remove it once you leave APJ, or stay in Airplane mode.

So amazed! I gave this to my son and sister who went to Osaka. There was no need to change the settings - Huawei P20 and P30 phone models. They said the connection was good and they never had a problem anywhere in Japan. I got all their viber and fb messages and the pictures were all so good!I will definitely buy this again when its my turn to visit Japan!

Used the SIM for my 3 country trip to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Worked brilliantly in all three countries, decent speed 4G most of the time, 3G otherwise. After the 8 day package finished, I was able to top up quite easily using my credit card via the official AIS app and then extended for extra 8 day 4GB package. This of course saved me a ton of money buying SIM card in each destination. Japan alone would have costed me three times the cost of this SIM card. Can’t recommend this enough. I am still topping this up to extend the validity for my next trip.

Worked perfectly. 4gb was more than enough to not have to worry about using as much data as I wanted in the 8 days. This card also allowed us to move countries and continue use. We used in Japan & South Korea.

Bought for a trip to Japan. Forgot my phone was sim locked.. Ended being used for a friend who ended up in hospital whilst over there and worked as described. Would buy again next time I'm heading to Japan as what was in offer there was a bit of a hassle to collect and wasn't cheap.

Used it on a recent trip to Japan and it worked great throughout Tokio and even in the mountains. Had it in iPhone 7 and Samsung Tab S2 T815, no problems whatsoever. The text messages in Thai may be annoying but I just ignored them.
