Good tool
I bought this for a woodworking project where I needed to countersink the screws. It did a great job. I especially like the adjustable stop to set the depth of the holes. The Allen wrench is included.

Great set!
I started using these DeWalt spiral drill/countersinks years ago when building an ipe' deck. EVERY screw had to have a pilot hole. These three sizes are a good combination for most sizes of screws. Could use one longer, but you could buy that separately. Be careful not to overheat these, as they will break, but other than that, they cut fine, and stay sharp. I speak from experience, after using them in hard, hard, ipe'. I usually get a set every couple years or so, and depend on them for clean screwing. The countersinks are great - the set collar is not too bulky, so you can get it into tighter places than some other designs I've tried. These break if you hit another fastener (that's operator error) or bend them while drilling (also op error). Having overheated them in ipe', I gotta say they are pretty amazing. They continue to cut, making clean holes, at least until you break off the tip and reshape it...they still work, even then, just not as well.

Very impressed
First time i tried one of these i was amazed how fast it drilled the counter sink. I was used to the old style countersinks without the taper. But this thing popped thru so fast I almost went too far. I didn't think i would like the taper, but that small end finds purchase in the work piece so well, no wandering of the drill bit when starting at all. I also used it for some shallow pilot holes without countersink, very easy to control and gave me precise starter holes

Good bits
These work well, but like all bits if you drop them they can develop cracks or break especially if you drop a drill with one in it. Very aggravating when you drop it or knock the drill over and break the one size you need. Wish they had a pack of 3 of just one size. I use a ton of #8s very rarely use 6 or 10s. Good value though.

250 countersunk holes in Ipe hardwood and ready for more
Good quality at a reasonable price. I built a 550 square foot deck from Ipe hardwood and drilled about 250 countersunk holes. I started with the equivalent Cobalt set and the countersink on the #8 collar dulled to unusability after 7 holes. So I got this set and the #8 for the remaining holes. I broke the taper bit after about 75 holes (my bad - sloppy alignment), replaced with a standard 9/32 bit, and did the rest. The countersink collar stayed workably sharp. The key is to keep lifting the bit out the hole to let itself clear. I actually held the tip of the screw (the one about to be driven into the hole) against the the countersink collar when I backed it out of the hole a little, keeping power on the drill to clear the cuttings from the flutes. (Maybe all you folks already know this and I'm just a noob.)

I love these things
I love these things for countersinking. I was building drawers for a pantry. I wanted to countersink the screws so that I could set them and cover them with wood filler so they aren't visible. The points on the bits allow you to drive them exactly where you want (on pine, for sure, harder wood might be different but I did okay on maple and oak). Stick that needle point in the spot you want the pilot hole and it doesn't walk at all. Just bites down and drills it out. I don't know how they'll last, and if you break that tapered bit I don't think you'll be able to replace them. But I really like how they work.

DeWalt DW2535 3 Piece #6,#8 and #10 Countersink Screw Bits
This is the 3rd set of these wonderful countersink bits I have purchased in 6 years, why so many you may wonder? I have been building "Heirloom Quality" Custom woodwork for 30+ years. I work with MANY species of different wood from South America, Africa , Europe and the Orient, some of the hard (very hard) types also have twisted grain, so tearout is a problem, when I pay $25 - $30+ a board ft. I can't afford to spend time on repairs from dull (even slightly dull) tooling, I keep 1 set in reserve and 1 set over in my mother's home (I live 70+ miles from any Home Depot or supply store)- These are by far the best for adjustable countersink bits, keep them clean from pitch build-up, don't overheat and they will last for thousands of screw holes - Thanks DeWalt for the great design and Thanks Amazon for the fast shipping as well as price
