Rapid start - plug -n- play
Ballast works great.I was a little apprehensive about installing this, with whole bunch of wires. A short amount of study and observation, and it really wasn’t anything much to it. I was lucky enough to have the same color coated wires so there wasn’t much to have to think about it.It’s really nice not having to purchase the whole fixture and install that part of the assembly on the ceiling. Two 96 T12 fluorescent tubes.After turning off the power at the circuit breaker, I used a multi meter and voltage tester to thoroughly ensure no electricity.The ballast comes brand new with the wires trimmed already, but it’s nice to have wire strippers handy so when you cut yours, you can trim off the ends to expose the wire, and connect to the new ballast.Cannot beat the price point,I’m positive that I saved a boatload of money, buy not hiring a professional electrician to come in and install this.Take your time, and you’ll be good to go in no time at all.AFJUAN

Works great
The ballast was perfect. It's lightweight and much smaller than the 1970's unit I replaced. As they say, make sure the ballast wires match the replacement one—the old end, red, red, and blue, powered the old sockets. I went quickly to ballast screw holes to mount the ballet unit. This was an easy swap, and everything worked. Lights are bright and yellow wires complete the circle of power second string works well—a good inexpensive option.

Very easy to hook up
These ballasts worked great and were very easy to install. The wires were color coded to a perfect match with the light fixtures. They were very quiet with no humming at all. Would buy again.

Save money, replace the ballast, not the fixture!
This is an exact fit and an easy replacement for your 4-bulb T8 light fixture. Just turn the power off, cut the leads on the old ballast near the middle, take out one screw, and put the new ballast in where the old one was. Strip the wires and match the color of the old wire to the new one. Twist them together and use a wire nut to hold together, or your other favorite wire connector. Stuff the wires back into the channel, replace the wire cover and fluorescent bulbs and you are ready to see the light! [ Remember, they are not light bulbs, they are dark sinks. Look at the end of the tube. It gets black from absorbing dark. When it has absorbed all the dark it can, it no longer works!]

Sylvania == OSRAM == LEDvance?
The seller’s photo and part number exactly matched the dead ballast in my 18 year old workbench fixture. Thought I was getting an exact match replacement, but received a LEDvance unit with the same specs, but a different part number. Was it bait and switch? Did some digging.Sylvania is now just a brand name, much like Maytag and Motobecane. The Sylvania name has changed hands multiple times within a small group of manufactures that are interrelated. So my LEDvance unit is probably the exact same hardware that might be found sporting an OSRAM or Sylvania label.It would be nice if the seller would add images to the listing of the different labels you might receive, with a brief explanation that the differences are just cosmetic.I went ahead and installed it, and the fixture now works like new. Actually better than new, since I swapped out the original fluorescents for Feit LED tubes several years ago.If the LEDvance unit suffers an early death, I’ll report back. Otherwise, it’s working fine.
