Increase the intensity of your workout with the CAP 2 in Olympic Grip Plate. It makes an exceptional addition to your weight lifting routine. The single CAP plate is made of solid cast iron. Each piece features over-sized holes. This allows the user to safely lift and load the plate onto the bars and other equipment. Additionally, it has a semi-gloss finish and convenient grips for added control. The weight is clearly marked with a contrasting silver color. This CAP 2 in Olympic Grip Plate fits on all 2 in Olympic style weightlifting bars, along with many other machines. The weights are available and sold separately in a 2.5 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb, 25 lb, 35 lb or 45 lb size.

Easy to grip plates
Great plates that are easy to grip and hold. I store them on CAP Barbell 2" Plate Rack and use them primarily with a 7' CAP Barbell Solid ECO Bar. There were some imperfections with the paint in a few areas, but really nothing to worry about. The approximate plate diameters are 5.75" for 2.5lbs, 9.25" for 10lbs, 11.0" for 25lbs, 14.0" for 35lbs, and 16.25" for 45lbs.

Cancer Free Lifts
I ordered 6 of these so far (2x25, 2x10, 2x2.5) and my bodyweight scale measured each 25# one as 25.0 lbs on the nose. It's not a hyper-accurate scale, but it's relatively accurate to within +- 0.2 lbs. I plan to order 45s, 35s, and 5s to complete my set.Pros:โข I love the grips and the hammered metal finish (certain paints are capable of producing that hammered look when dry).โข Absolutely cannot beat the price for the 45s, 25s, 10s, and 2.5s. The 35s and the 5s break the pattern of ridiculously cheap, but they're still not too bad for what you get.โข Each weight (25 lb) shipped separately in its own box to minimize potential damage from shipping, something I appreciate.Cons:โข As others have said, the inner 2" diameter cutout was roughly finished, but this was only true of the larger 25# weights I ordered, NOT the smaller ones. Both of my two 25# weights came with some sharp burred edges, but a quick touch with my Dremel, and everything was sorted out. Alternatively, one could touch up the sharp/rough patches with a metal file. Either way, this was not a big deal for me, and I placed my order fully expecting to encounter this.โข Of the three sets I ordered, the 2.5# weights took much longer to ship (roughly 3 weeks), but arrived promptly after shipping (within 2 days). No big deal for me, but just beware you may have to wait for your full set.Aside note:โข I'm amused by people who see the Prop 65 warning for the first time in their lives thinking these barbell weights are going to give them cancer. You can tell these people are either not from California, or they do not buy many products aimed at California markets. To clarify: California requires, by law, a warning label on all products sold in the state when those products contain one or more statutorily defined chemicals "known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm." This can include lead or lead-based paint. Yes, lead is a known carcinogen, and lead paint is toxic. It is also very common. The truth is, many of these one-star reviewers have likely encountered this substance in their own states WITHOUT such a warning. For instance, bullets and air rifle pellets are overwhelmingly manufactured with lead as the main component. Lead is used in older formulations of pewter. Lead is commonly included in industrial paints. In fact, in older communities, lead was a material commonly used in potable water pipes to carry drinking water from city supplies into homes. While I am only guessing, I'd say the warning probably applies to the paint, which is likely lead-based.So, what can you do to minimize adverse health effects from handling these barbells? The single biggest thing you can do to stay safe is not to eat the paint. Yes, I'm serious. Don't be tempted to lick it, however tasty it may appear, and don't let your children lick the barbells either. The other thing is to simply wash your hands like a civilized person after handling the weights. You should be in this habit anyway. Do these things, and if you still get cancer, I promise it was probably from something else.Lol. Sometimes, you people really amuse me. Carcinogenic barbell weights. What will you internets think of next?By the way, ethanol (the kind of grain alcohol in drinks like beer, wine, and other distilled spirits) is a known carcinogen. You'd be surprised what common products in every day life are carcinogenic. Common medications like benzodiazipines, barbiturates, albuterol, and atorvastatin are carcinogenic; also carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon tetrachloride and many other aromatic hydrocarbons... to date, the list has accumulated more than 800 substances. Too much sunlight is carcinogenic. Not enough sunlight is carcinogenic. These barbells are the least of your concerns.Good luck, be smart, and stay safe.

CAP weight plates are usually complete garbage. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
CAP weight plates are complete garbage. No quality control at all. Some are occasionally OK, if you luck out, but often you get complete and utter garbage. AVOID if you have other options. Unfortunately with the current situation, I had no choice. It was these pieces of crap or nothing at all. The bore holes are completely rough, to the point I had to take a metal file to one of the 25lb plates to smooth out some burrs that otherwise would have damaged my bar. The other 25lb plate had voids in the fabric of the metal, indicating very poor casting quality. Really I cant believe anyone on Amazon sells this junk. If I were receiving as a seller I would tell CAP to take their trash and shove it up their asses. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Excellent price, but poor quality. Not recommended for compound movements.
Had I wrote this review a month earlier it would be four stars. The plates are different sizes and range in weight from 44-46 lbs. I can live with that. The real problem with these plates that I discovered is the sizing of the center hole. It's too big. It makes a difference once you have a few of these on the bar. The slop from the hole makes it a lot harder to keep the bar in place and hold good form throughout the lift. I recently swapped these out for a couple of bumper plates that had much better tolerance for the center hole and the different was incredible. I am now using these plates as the counter weight on my rack.Great price on these, but if you are serious about lifting, you're going to have to buy twice. These are great for stability weight on your stands, rack, etc.

Nice plates but the 45s are undersize.
I have these in 2.5#-45#, the 45# are smaller diameter than all of my other 45# plates which can be frustrating. The 25# and 35# seem to be about the same diameter as other brand 25s/35s so I'm not sure why the 45s are smaller. (Even from other Cap Barbell models). This is mostly a problem for Deadlifting where, if you're using just these plates, you're going to be at a small deficit, or if you're using them with other brand plates, the other brand plates are carrying more weight. If you're not doing lifts off the floor, the smaller diameter shouldn't matter.Out of 18 plates of various weight I purchased, all are very close to the advertised weight, I did not have any problems with the bores being less than perfect and the black paint quality on all of them is very high. (The silver paint on most of them had some registration problems, but I don't really consider that an issue for weights...)If the 45s were the standard diameter, I would rate these 5 stars.

You get what you pay for.. Truly.
You would think the size would al be the same, right? Wrong. You would think the weights would be all within lets say half a pound at most, right? Wrong. I recieved eight 45lb plates while some are 44lbs which is acceptable for what you pay but 42.6lbs? Thats unacceptable. Im not asking for competition quality weights or within a couple grams.. Were are talking 2.4lbs less then what the product describes.. All the other weights I ordered are all within decent tollerance.. 5, 10, 25, 35lbs..

Phthalate Warning likely due to Latex-based white paint "CAP, 45lbs" On Side of Plate
This is your typical, wrought iron plate with low quality controls (easily cracked enamel finish, somewhat inaccurate weight) at a low price. The state of California, picky as they come, has decided that the androgen blocking and potentially cancer causing phthalate chemicals in what is likely the latex paint on the side of these weights deserves a health warning. Having read the research, I find the inclusion of these chemicals despite the known danger a little bit disturbing (since the paint serves no functional purpose). However, the quantities you are likely to absorb in a little bit of paint that you will probably never have to touch have never been found to cause damage.I've decided to rate these plates 3/5 because of their great value, low quality controls, and the unnecessary inclusion of theoretically harmful phthalate chemicals.Aside from my rating, Amazon may make sending this item to you a complete clownshow by putting the 45 lb plate in a huge, essentially empty box, causing it to bang around in shipping, wrecking itself and the box it comes in.

A bit heavy. Each plate feels like you're carrying 45lbs of iron.
1 Star removed because the first 2 arrived well-packaged while the other 18 plates others arrived loose in wrecked oversized boxes with nothing but some brown paper which did nothing to stop them from blowing out the walls of their boxes. Some of the plates arrived with chips from being slammed around in freight and the glossy coating was gone in the location of the damage. Also had to buy a half-round file to remove the burs on the inside holes where the plates mount onto the olympic bar to prevent scratches. Some of the plates are not formed to the same standard with the inner holes on a slight angle while others are straight. Despite the imperfections, I just wanted cheap plates and they are sufficient for my needs. The design is not symmetrical and I'm a bit neurotic with loading the plates onto the bar and weight horns as I always try to line up the grip holes.

A piece of iron with a hole in the middle...should be pretty simple
I'm not particularly happy with the CAP 25 lb. plates I received. I had ordered the Champion brand in 2.5/5/10 pound plates, but for the 25 lb plates, the CAP was significantly cheaper, so I ordered them. While they're fine and the weight is accurate, there's some cast flashing on the hole, so one plate didn't fit onto my bar, and the other scratched it a bit. It's not the end of the world, half an hour with a file and some sand paper cleared it up, but I would have paid the extra $10 for the Champion plates if I'd known in advance.

Great value
As described: YesShipping: On TimeCommunication with Seller: n/aWould recommend: YesComments: They cost the same amount as the ones at any store, but the great thing is that they deliver them to you.... which for me, is the winning feature of any item. They are very nice, no nicks or damage to them and seem to be high quality. I am impressed.
