The pieces fit snugly together by pressing. There is a shoulder ring on the inside. This prevents it from being broken if too much pressure is applied. May be closed and shaken without any contents spilling. Good little device.

Great shaker

A great cocktail shaker at a nice price point. Heavy duty glass and metal make for a sturdy product. The 7 different cocktail recipes is a nice bonus.

Broken and defective

Received the first one, it was well packaged, but the glass was broken. Returned it, received the second one and the metal lid wouldn't come off the strainer.

Occasional use

This should work good for my occasional use. The first one I received, I couldn’t get the cap off, but they replaced the item quickly. The ounce marks on the glass seem to be correct.
