Thickener Powder - Xantham-Based

I bought Thick-It Clear Advantage Xanthan Powder for my Mom after years of struggling with different thickening products, and I honestly wish I had switched sooner. If you’re caring for a loved one with swallowing difficulties, this product can make a HUGE difference. My mom had been using the original corn-starch thickener for a long time, and while it worked, it always changed the taste and texture just enough that she noticed. It could get cloudy, gritty, and sometimes thicken unevenly. Not the end of the world, but definitely not ideal—especially when you’re trying to keep someone hydrated and comfortable. Then we tried a gel thickener… and that was a flat-out no. The gel was sticky, hard to mix, and honestly changed the flavor the most. Mom would take one sip, make a face, and push it away. I don't have Dysphagia and instead use this to help thicken up sauces and soups, or even my home-made hot sauces. It is a bit pricier than regular xanthan gum, but is truly tasteless and mixes well into liquids. Overall I'm pleased with it. Product of a USA company, my jar has a Best By date of Jan 2025. ~ Kort

May thicken as supposed to, tried out to see if more stable per say, less separating or forms into jello... No difference from previous formula that I can see but cost is more for less amount, not worth the change

Excellent product for people that have difficulty swallowing liquids without aspirating. The powder is better than the liquid version because you can control the thickness. Only downside is that it's a little difficult to mix without getting lumps. A whisk helps with mixing.

Great for adults and children with food texture issues

The product works but….the container has 7.5 oz that you use a little scoop at a time. I bought the product in early April and there is no way to use it up by the “Best Used by” June 2025!!!!
