Jesse Stone 9-Movie Collection + Gift

The complete set of the Jesse Stone movies, starring icon Tom Selleck. I had watched the occasional episode on some streaming app while travelling, and was intrigued. Got this set for a very low price (yay) and have binge-watched, as well as occasional-watched, ever since. You can pick it up at any point and get into his storyline, the small town thingy, the odd and recurring solid characters, while grooving to Jesse’s interior story and personal demons all the while. The first installment (‘Night Passage’) is the one to start with, as it tells how he came to be, really. It can be dark - not a lot of Selleck smiles here - but if you like dramas with an edge, good acting & cinematography, you will get into it! One of Selleck’s best gigs, after Magnum, PI, of course! Get this! Delivery was quick, product quality good.

Outstanding, acting, screen writing, plots, characters...can watch over and over. Wish there were more Jesse Stone movies.

Good set of DVDs that are ideal for fans of that show. . These are early 2000 shows and image quality as well as sound are fine played on a Sony Bravia 55" TV. As per other reviews, the 9 movies are not in order on the DVDs. The order of the shows is: 1. Night Passage, 2. Stone Cold, 3.Death in Paradise, 4. Sea Change, 5. Thin Ice, 6. No Remorse, 7. Innocents Lost, 8. Benefit of the Doubt, 9. Lost in Paradise – NOTE: Some lists swap shows 1 and 2. The price was outstanding and the set arrived undamaged from the USPS.

Awesome series! Glad I bought it

Big-town cop moves to a small town. Many adjustments need to be made now. Not all of them are to Jesse's liking. Selleck is great as the grumbly, mumbly officer who just wants to be alone. It's him & his dog against the world. Kohl Sudduth, as "Suitcase," really shines. He has a way of tugging Jesse in a new direction. Nobody else could do that. William Devane is perfect as Jesse's friend & sounding board. Sometimes his advice wakes up & shakes Jesse, in a good way. Stephen McHattie is excellent as Healy. He lets Jesse keep a toe in cases that fascinate him. Kathy Baker gives the warm embrace of humanity to Jesse, but will she answer the phones? Saul Rubinek (Warehouse 13) tries to merge his home & work lives, usually not to his favor. He still has a spark or two of humanity left. William Sadler, as Gino Fish, sees a comrade in Jesse. Jesse would agree Gino's secretaries are worth the trip. I absolutely love this series. I wish Tom would do more! Watch what makes you happy.

The movies are really good. Tom Selleck makes them better. However, the DVDs state that closed captioning is available, but CC was unable to be found or available. If you need CC, don't buy these. The arrangement of the movies on the DVDs are not in the order of recommended watch order. If you want to watch the movies in order, as recommended, you have to jump back and forth on the DVDs. It is very aggravating to have to find the next movie on different disc. The movies should have been in order, as much as possible. They aren't. The promo line shows Jesse Stone 9-Movie Collection + Gift. But, I didn't see the "Gift."

Quality. Ease of use. Durability. Great value for the money.

We watch a lot of series movies especially in the winter. These were entertaining and a good value.

One of the best detective series, well acted and believable.

Bonne série le cd ne marche pas tout les lecteur

Tom Selleck scores a winner with this superb series of nine TV movies from the books of Robert B. Parker an excellent crime writer. Sellect picks a great cast of supporting actors who have already established themselves with awards such as Oscars, Grammys and Tony honours. Although the dialogue is very sparse, its the great acting that advances the plot without words being spoken. You have to pay attention to the actors expressions and movements to follow the advancement of the plot. And Selleck as Jesse Stone is also a man of few words but still gets his point across and makes a very strong statement with his superb acting. About the best thing one can say about these movies is: the acting is so great that the viewer will actually believe they are the people being portrayed. Selleck wants to do another Jesse Stone movie but needs a producer. You have Amazon Prime. Why don't you produce and distribute this movie to an Amazon channel like Starz? It would be a great investment. June MacDonald
