Plastic body looks like chrome. Lightweight scale. I really like that I can tare a food container of my choice with a simple a quick turn of an easily accessible knob adjustment. I also love that it doesn't require batteries or have electronic parts to go bad in my humid, jungle home. Perfect for off-grid use. I also like the neatly fitting plastic bowl it comes with. My original shipment delivered a broken bowl, but the return replacement process was so easy. Just drop it by my local UPS store and scan in the return scan code. Done! The replacement arrived in perfect shape. (BTW Amazon, it was clear my original shipment had been a retuned item - because the replacement came with different packing materials and instructions - whereas the original had no packing and no instructions.) It seems to be on-the-money accurate. I wish it was in a smaller weight range with more detail provided between ounces, but I am able to measure out to the exact ounce well enough. You would not be able to read this to the gram level. This is working well for tracking my protein intake to the ounce. I think it's going to come in handy in the kitchen for multiple projects.

Made a cheap rig to measure small rocket motor thrust. It has a tare knob (weight reset) that works well. I tested it before and after the jig, with a 5lbs dumb bell weight and it was dead on. I needed something cheap just in case I catch it on fire. It’s made of very thin cheap plastic. Very lightweight and accurate. Comes with a measuring bowl, unnecessary in my case. I’m very happy with it. Exactly what I wanted.

I do resin work, which has to be done outside for the smell / stickiness of it all. Given that I live in Florida, the humidity is ROUGH on any electronics used in the process. I used to use a digital kitchen scale, but the poor thing died after a few years of this abuse. This one won't. The analog scale is like weighing bananas at the grocery store; it loses some of the delicate by-the-gram accuracy you might get with digital displays, but it's DURABLE. You tare it manually, which lets me adjust for the weight of whichever container I'm mixing in (or for the weight of whatever resin I've permanently fused with the scale), and it's easy enough to read. It's plastic, so it doesn't feel robust enough to survive TOO much abuse, but simply existing in Florida won't kill it immediately. Definitely worth it

The large cup, which it is detachable from the scale, makes it deal to weight the either grains, fruits, etc. and can be wash with soap an water after each use. Works very well, gives exactly weight.

It doesn't need batteries! It's a little finicky about reading exactly 0 no matter how much you try to adjust the knob. Press down, the let go, you'll never have it set back to exactly 0. If you need something ultra precise, I wouldn't use this. It's better suited to things weighing a pound or more. It's fine for that.

No need to worry about a flat battery, this mechanical scales is accurate everytime you get it out of the cupboard no matter how long before uses and No extra cost for batteries. Handy basin makes it easy to weigh anything. Love it, great price and always ready. I will probably be able to pass it on to my children as it is very endurable.

Little bit difficult to adjust

Wanted the scales to weigh joints of meat prior to cooking in air fryer as a lot of cook books dont give times for air frying/Roasting joints alone only fancy recipes & no air fryer times on the packs of meat only times for conventional ovens.

Hopeless. If I could have NOT given a star it would be about right. This is a set of scales which is very inaccurate. Enough to ruin cakes, bread or pastry....or anything where measurements need to be within 50g/2oz....(which is most things). If you zero it, then lift and replace the jug, it's not zeroed any more. Waste of money.
