The book came in a good condition

I would like to first write about the physical condition of the book. The book came in good condition, and worth the price too.As for the content of the book, the little you know, the better. It is set during the first world war, and we follow two teenagers who enlist for the war and their beautiful love story.The writing and formatting of this book is beautiful and genius!!! The characters are well formed, to the point where they feel like they really exist. If you're looking for a book that'll make your heart race, cry and laugh, you should pick this book up. It's more than just a love story, it reflects life during one of the most harrowing times in the history. This book captures war and it's ugliness as opposed to the beauty of human emotions perfectly!!

The hypermasculine atmosphere of war is blistered, oozing with gore, mutilating youYet it is beautifully interspaced with love, sequenced in threads of letters, poetry, fierce passion"It is most peculiar how grief affects you differently each time..,I saw a worm in the earth,..and I was struck suddenly with the blinding vision of Stephen whose face I knew so well-and the worms don't distinguish"The one particular scene that will remain etched in my memory is how Ellwood hypnotized with rage keeps on killing enemies & saving his infantry mates with half blasted face"We had reached a point in history where we believed it was possible to make war humane"Author's writing bleeds through those pages & drips right onto your heart. It's intimate, realistic, visceral, fleeting yet profoundIt affects you much more than you want it to coz it's more like a mirror to society. The way it seeps into your veins, "trying to claw open your own windpipe".A journey through life of these soldiers & you realise how trivial our complaints about life are

The book isn't in the best conditions but good to me.
