99.99999% of phone owners will not need any more protection than this lightweight and sturdy case offers
I am very surprised at the level of protection with such a slim and comfortable case. It's cheap, thin-profile but still looks professional, it is a perfect fit and it isn't a chore if you need it removed and it works surprisingly well. I work on an ambulance 18 hours a day and i can say i am being 100% honest when i say that i drop this phone out of my lap to a five foot drop to concrete at least once a day and the phone has incurred zero damage, function or aesthetic, and it is light weight and easy in-out of pockets. really pleased with it and it was not even in the top five that i wanted for the phone, but it boiled down to affordability, and now i am very happy i went this route and didn't get an unnecessarily clunky case. Bright clean colors, lightweight materials with a quality feel. A++ p.s.........PICS. please note that these pics are being taken after LOTS of rough handling and dozens of 1-5 foot drops to asphalt. It holds it's own, i now know what the big deal is with the OtterBox brand.

Pretty decent case
So after six months with this thing here we have the commentary. Mostly I bought this case for the scratch resistance and the ability to set the phone face down on most surfaces with no worries. Also minor bump resistance in the car as well as the much needed extra grip on the One. To that end it works well, I haven't dropped the One yet, and to be honest this is the first phone I felt a need for a case on, mostly due to the slippery nature of the aluminum. The color is holding up fine, the rubber portions are holding up mostly fine. I say mostly because the "flap" that covers the charging port is getting fairly sloppy and there is slack developing in the rubber ridge adjacent to the port cover. Those complaints aside the case has done well over the last six months. I don't expect a case to protect a multi hundred dollar mini computer from drops or abuse, but for what I want it fills its needs fine. Of note the Otterbox commuter case on my mother's Galaxy SIII made the buttons unpressable by all. However the volume rockers work fine with this case on the One. So I surmise there is some variability in this respect and it is something to consider as one may win the "hard button press" lotto and one may not.

Overall Very Good
Like my otterbox for my HTC Thunderbolt and for my iPhone before that, it fits very well and seems to be nice and protective. Pros: Lip on top really helps protects screen from setting down on a bad surface or dropping it face down. Covers over the ports - charging port and headphone port keeps dirt out Remembered the IR Power Button! They left a hole in the case so I can still use the remote feature :) Free Screen Cover - I haven't had a problem with my screen covers on any of my otter boxes Cons: Bulky - makes it about 1.5x thicker than just the phone Hides the beautiful aluminum case Color - The photos of 'Glacier' make it look like a light gray, make not mistake it is as bright white as a piece of printer paper. Overall, I like it. This isn't as bulky as the "Defender" series but seems to still offer good protection, otter box is my go-to phone case and hasn't failed me yet!

Major Tough Case
My original silicone cover to my cell final broke to pieces. Was looking for a cheap, reasonable case to protect cell for little while longer. Almost went with a even cheaper case but so Happy I went with this OtterBox Case, this is a great case, well design, well protection, was afraid that OtterBox would be too thick & bulky but this is medium wise, so I'm happy. the white plastic can be a little slippery but not bad & extremely protective. Two piece layer design is a nice & great touch for feel & protection. So one could use just the grey Silicone layer if that's all you need. But this case would have lasted many many years, but sadly my phone wont last that long, wish I had got it way sooner!!!

Very sturdy case
I am usually a cheapo when it comes to buying cases. I'll buy $3 cases for expensive phones because I didn't feel like I needed anything other than something to protect the case from scratches from being in my purse. Then I dropped my last phone face down and it hit a small pebble and cracked the screen - first time it's ever happened in my 11 years of owning a cell phone. I was devastated because it was a high end phone. So, when I ordered my HTC One, I decided to spend more for a better case that would be more sturdy. A co-worker of mine has an OtterBox case for her iPhone and loves it. I had seen them in the store, too, so I thought I would give it a shot. I am very happy with this case! It does give a little more thickness to the width of the phone, but it's a snug fit and I feel like my phone is very secure. It has a rubber case that fits around the phone and then a harder plastic shell that fits over the rubber part. The color on the photo (teal) is a bit darker than it is in person, but that's okay. I'm glad I went with this case and when my husband gets his upgrade in a few weeks, I'm going to suggest he get it, too. Very, very happy customer.

Fits like a glove, huge improvement over old Otterbox
So I finally upgraded my phone to the HTC One after doing much research and waiting for my contract to expire. Previously I had the HTC Evo 3D, and had purchased the otterbox case for that as well. My previous otterbox case (partially) lasted me through more than two years, though the hard shell cracked in some locations, entirely falling off the upper right portion of the back. Despite this damage to the case, when I took my old Evo 3D out of its hardcover and flexible silicon sleeve, it looks like I have just taken it out of the package. Oh, I should also mention I am no saint when it comes to keeping my phone safe. A drop once a day is commonplace for me, as I am a fairly heavy phone user. So, with the aforementioned information, I decided to trust Otterbox again. The defender always seemed too bulky, so I picked the commuter case again and woah was I surprised! They have switched the material on their softshell part of the case to a more rigid and far more durable feeling soft plastic that is rigid enough to keep your HTC One in the case without the hardshell, but soft enough that you can easily extract it. The hardshell now fits over and into the softshell and serves as a sort of locking mechanism to keep your phone latched into the case which secures together in a rather seamless and visually appealing case. It also covers up the power and headphone jack with two slits of softshell inbetween hardshell openings that are solid and steadfast enough to require you to actively try to open the port in question, but easy enough to require little actual effort to do so. They also have a satisfying tightness that seems to me to border on water resistance, though I would not like to test that theory any time soon. As an added bonus, the power button is now infinitely easier to locate and press due to the seemingly guiding slope on the case down to the button, leaving the RF open so you can still power your entertainment system. I had a little trouble locating and pressing the button before the case, but now I can find it any press it without even thinking about it very easily. The only problems I can even report about it are that the case is a little too bulky to be able to use in any dock or car port, though it doesn't feel like it, and that the case takes awhile to disassemble if you need to take the phone out. Aside from those things, this is a great case folks! TL/DR Pros/Cons list: Pros Much improved softshell from previous models Fits like a glove, feels like it can take a hit Makes power button and volume buttons much easier to use Does not obscure either microphone or camera or RF blaster Comes with a screen protector, if you are into that sorta thing Protective flaps on open spots of phone (Headphone jack, power) Glacier color looks perfect with the Silver HTC one Cons Not compatible with any docks I could find Takes a while to get phone out of case once properly installed into it

not my best experience with OtterBox cases.
I got the "Arctic White" case for my One, and overall, it's a pretty nice case. Here are my thoughts concerning this case: Pros: -The white case looks great on the white HTC one. -Protects your phone very well -Does what a smart phone case needs to do. Cons: -The construction quality (on my case at least) seems subpar of that of other otterbox cases. The seams between the rubber glove for the phone and the plastic shield in some areas have gaps. -The screen protector I received is fit for sitting directly on top of the heaping pile of trash in my apartment's trashcan. Comments: -As I mentioned about the screen protector: I believe it's defective. I noticed right away when I removed the plastic bag holding the screen protector, microfiber cloth, and card thingy to install the screen protector that the protector itself was bent in a corner. But that's just the beginning of my gripes about it; When I went to install it, I could never remove some of the bubbles from particular places in the screen (even with my fingernail, the bubbles never even budged.) After several attempts of using their included card to help installing the protector, I noticed that it was scratching the heck out of the protector. Not deep scratches that you can feel, but they wouldn't buff out with the microfiber cloth. And they are plain as day on the protector too. And for the finale on my rant about the screen protector - There was a little paper tab with instructions to remove it after installing the screen. I decided after a few attempts to just live with a couple minor bubbles and a corner popping up (I hoped the case would hold down the corner). But when I went to remove the tab, the paper ripped like a sticker on paper. This was going to leave even more of a noticeable smudge on the screen from the adhesive. That was the straw that broke the camels back there, I decided to just take off the screen protector and live without it on there. The case will do well enough of keeping the phone from being damaged when it gets dropped, and that's all I need. I keep my phone in a seperate pocket from my keys, so I'm not too worried about the screen getting scratched.

Perfect case (if a bit over-packaged)
I had my HTC One about a week or so before getting this OtterBox. I was swayed slightly by those who suggest that the HTC One is such a beautiful device it's a shame to cover it up with a case. But having paid full price for the device on a no-contract carrier (Ting) I wanted to give it some protection. And earlier on the day that my OtterBox arrived I came very close to dropping the phone for the first time. The one piece aluminum body is beautiful alright, but also a bit slippery. Your results may vary because your hands may be a different size than mine, but the instant I put this case on the phone felt so much more comfortable in my hand. It's just grippy enough that I don't feel like it's going to slide out of my hand easily and I actually appreciate the added bulk because the naked phone is very thin - too thin for my liking it turns out. In fact, I'd say this case makes it easier for me to use the phone one-handed. I can't think of anything negative about the case itself but I'd knock off half a star if I could because of the packaging -- too much plastic. While I can appreciate the perception that slick packaging is needed for selling these in a store, there's no reason why an item like this that I buy on-line can't come in a brown paper envelope.

Good Sturdy case...A little too heavy and bulky
Although the case is sturdy, it greatly takes away from the killer feature of HTC One, the sleek and slim profile and makes it very heavy and bulky. Thats the price for superior protection though..
