VibramWomen's FiveFingers Alitza Loop Shoe

Genius Shoes
I rarely take the time to review a product...which is a shame because that's what I largely base my purchases on. I have good intentions and some long road is paved with it. The fact I am taking the time to write this speaks volumes for these shoes. The first day Nike Studio Wraps came out I bought a pair. I didn't really like the shoe part and the ribbon was just silly...but I did like the wrap and wore them for my combination weight/yoga workouts 5x a week until they fell apart. I was going to repurchase, but I started reading the Nike reviews...turns out they are on version 4 and the verdict isn't favorable. The Vibram Alitza came up as a similar item I might be interested in... I started researching...it sounded favorable and I knew I could return them if they weren't. Not only are they superior to the Nike wrap as a gym/yoga shoe...I wear them around the house and running errands. It truly is like being barefoot but protected. Getting the toes aligned on the first try is a crap-shoot...but the 5 seconds it takes to piddle around with it is worth it. I'm not big on the usual 5-toe look...but in all black I don't really notice the separation and I really like the criss-cross over the foot. They are terrific if you combine stretching with weight training and want to grab your big toe for leverage or flex your feet. I've worn these out running errands and my feet are comfortable which is amazing because I thought I needed highly cushioned (think crocs). They are fairly warm in the cold and definitely cool in the heat...fits my lifestyle perfectly.

Cute shoes with some issues
I have gone through three different sizes of these Vibram Alitza Loops in order to find one that would not be extremely painful on my baby toes. These are only the 2nd pair of Vibram shoes I have owned and I have not worn Vibrams for very long at all, but these shoes were cut strangely and seem to run small compared to the other pair I purchased. My husband and son have sung Vibram's praises for years so I finally decided to take the plunge and pick up a few pairs. I did not want to wear traditional tennis shoes this summer so I was hoping these Alitzas would be the answer to what I could replace them with. After going through the various sizes (thank you Amazon for your great return policy on shoes!) I finally ended up with these black ones in a 42. They fit well and are fairly comfortable to wear for a few hours at a time. I am probably still adjusting to them so I hope this will get longer over time.Other than the issue with sizing, I am disappointed with how the toes look. They seem stitched weirdly and look deformed. I'm probably going to keep this pair, but should send it back because the toes on the left foot are so weirdly constructed. However, when on my foot they look ok and feel fine. It's a shame I've had issues with these shoes. They're very cute and that was partly the reason I finally decided to try Vibram shoes. While not 100% thrilled with these shoes, I do like them and I will wear them. I love the idea of barefoot shoes and since I live in (almost) nothing but Toms they're a nice change for the summer.I will update this review after I've had these shoes for several months.(I'm also including pictures of the magenta Alitza shoes I originally ordered, unfortunately I ended up with the black because they did not have the magenta in size 42)

Love these!!!
I love Vibram and especially Aliza Loop. They look a bit more girly than some toe shoes and they are so comfortable! These are my 5th pair! I hadn’t been able to find them so when I stumbled on these I was so happy! I wear them at home (constantly stub my toes on things) and kayaking. They wash easily….your feet will love them!

Ughh weird toes
I love these shoes but they don’t accommodate my sideways pinky toe. If you have weird toes like me they require lots of stretching and twisting to get a comfortable fit. Other than that these are excellent shoes.

Sizes are All Wrong
I already own these shoes in two other colors and jumped at the chance to add a third pair. I wear a US size 8.5, which is an EU size 39. The size chart on the product says EU size 7.5-8 is 39. I thought that was weird, but I shrugged it off and purchased the EU 39. I just got the shoes and the box says 7-7.5 but the label says EU 38, or 7.5-8. (see photo). I deliberately ordered the 7.5-8 because the chart says it is a 39, not a 38. But it doesn't matter because there are two different sizes on the box. The quality control on this is really bad. Would love to try buying another pair but I don't trust that the second order will be any different.

Happy feet!
If you're not familiar with Vibram shoes, know that:a) you should really buy your first pair at a store, if possibleb) they will take some getting used to, andc) once you're used to them, you will never want to wear anything else on your feet.If you're already a Vibram convert, these are just another stellar addition to the line. They're so freaking cute and quite feminine, and fit as expected--same size as the other two styles I own. They fit a bit lower around the sides of my foot, if that makes sense--kind of like a no-show sock liner, but not so low that they slip off at all.The webbing in the middle is a nice, thick elastic that holds your foot securely but not in a death grip.I am plagued with a billion different foot problems, and it's incredibly difficult to find shoes that don't hurt my feet in one way or another. Generally, I can't walk longer than a mile or so before I start limping. Today, I got these in the mail, put them on, and headed straight out the door for what ended up being an 8-mile hike. Pebbles, sharp rocks, super muddy mud, freezing water, grass, you name it.... and I didn't think about my feet ONCE. No blisters, no hot spots or aching heels... just a perfect, perfect shoe that fits my foot like a second skin. LOVE EM!
