Bought this for my Aussie and if anyone knows Aussies - they shed. Get enough of her undercoat to make another dog or a dog hair blanket. Lady Rosebell likes the scratching and looks forward to her afternoon combing.

Update: I gave it another try since his mats were getting bad. Senior cat who doesn't groom much. As long as you avoid sensitive areas like behind the ears, it does cut the mats out and thins the undercoat, but be careful you don't get stuck on a mat and pull because it will pull from the root. You have to angle the blades just right to cut the mat. I still prefer the combs with the narrow teeth for cats.Original review: The teeth are way too wide apart on this comb. My cat's fur is very fine and gets little dreadlocks. I have an Oster brand deshedder where the teeth are set very close together and it actually will cut his tangles painlessly. This comb just gets stuck in the mats and it actually pulled out a chunk behind his ear which is now bald. The poor guy just let me do it without screaming and I feel terrible. I don't know if this is meant for big dogs, but be careful if you're using it on a cat! Look for the combs with the really small teeth.

This brush is fabulous ! A family member who is attending grooming school told me about this, and it works much better than brushes costing a lot more. The brush gets out all of the clumps of undercoat that show up in the spring around the hips of your pup. I couldn't believe the amount of hair that we got out in just one brushing. It allows the coat to lay so much smoother. I highly recommend.

Works really good, better than I thought. Doesn’t pull your dog’s hair to make them uncomfortable. It also grabs a ton of hair which is great.Only downside is that it seems that it can become dried up easily or rust up quickly. Sometimes dusty too.

Where has this tool been my whole life! I did not realize how much hair remained in my corgi after grooming until now! It looks as if I have brushed a small dog off of her every time I use it. This is a very effective tool to keep in your grooming kit.
