This opinion writing workbook is designed for beginning readers and writers to learn to formulate an opinion and write a full sentence about their opinion. Review: A simple but effective method - The book is based on a very simple premise of giving a child illustrations of everyday objects to express a preference for, e.g. teddy bear versus doll, tomato versus zucchini etc. Initially, the preference is simply an ‘either-or’ but as the choices progress, the young one will write down the reason they prefer option A over option B. It’s a great way to prompt the novice writer/reader to hone their literacy skills and it requires them to think for themselves. This is a good foundation for acquiring more complex critical thinking skills as they grow. I have yet to work through the exercises with my nephew but I’m very pleased with the presentation and lay out of the book. There’s even a certificate of achievement to give him at the end. Looking good!
