A Sufi tale of heart
This is a story, according to critics, with a Sufi heart. If you like the writer Imtiaz Ali you will probably enjoy this movie. The characters have a secret longing for passion and connection against a backdrop of lives that don't really deliver on either.

The pain of love
The thing about this film that bugged me was it is called Rockstar. As dramatic as the story line is the music was not ROCK. Unlike films Rock on the music was not in turn with the Rock genre. I did not find the film at all compelling or a must see. In fact u would not go out of my way to watch this film again. The story Jordan want to be a Rock star, like his hero James Morrison, but his trusted friend/confidante points out a flaw in him that will always stop him from achieving this. His life is too plain and content. He does not have enough pain in his life. So from what I can see he goes about trying to ruin things in his life, and fall in love along the way.Between the pain and pleasure of love, rejection, and his bad boy antics he manages to active his dream but now he finds this is not all it is cracked up to be and feel more like a performing monkey then a success story. The film is a little too depressing for me and I am not sure what message it is trying to portray.

This movie is amazing!!
This movie is amazing!!!! It highlights how one is sucked into the illusion of the materialistic world that is full of money, selfishness and greed. Jordan goes on SPIRITUAL journey to find himself. Jordan can sing but he lacks that ROCKSTAR aura that he craves. He falls madly in love with Heer which unknowingly transforms him into a Rockstar, a man with pain and without his love. Songs are out of this world and Ranbir Kapoor is absolutely brilliant. I recommend this movie to everyone who watches movies or doesn't. In my opinion, the best Bollywood movie ever made. THANK YOU IMTIAZ ALI.

Future classic
Intense and interesting story, coupled with memorable soundtrack (Rahman). Imtiaz Ali (directing) has created some magic and Ranbir's immersive performance is impressive. Will watch again and enjoy all over again.
