Very helpful book!
I first learned of this wonderful book during a conference session in February. The session focused on female bullies in the workplace and listed this book along with a few others as helpful resources. I started reading Mean Girls at Work first and could not put it down. It really opened my eyes to not only the obvious bullying in the workplace but the subtle bullies, ways we react to co-workers we don't like and may not even realize how mean it is (eye rolling, cutting someone off, walking away, etc.). I am working with my staff to make sure that they understand how hurtful this behavior is to the person on the receiving end. This book has been a wonderful resource as I work through these talks.

ok
I though the book was pretty repetitive and basic. It was a quick read. I don't feel like I really learned anything new, it was all what I think is common sense.

The Female Office Predator
Every working woman needs to read this book. Unfortunately, today the business world is more competitive and to survive, one needs some sound advice, particularly when working with women. I was old school and was not prepared for the animosity towards older workers. Also, there is a new trend of meanness today. Let me state though, I have worked with many tough-minded and exceptionally smart women. It Is always one or two that create problems and also connect with some that are not completely happy and then they proceed to make a person's life so miserable that they quit. That is their intent. I did not quit. I learned. You will also find that these particular women do not do very much work and push off as much as they can to other workers. This book is exceptionally well written in that the mean girl action is identified, what she does, how it makes you feel, and what you do to handle the situation.

FINALLY a MEAN-GIRLS-AT-WORK survival guide
I have purchased so many of these as gifts for colleagues who fall victim to cliques in the work place. Some people get older but they do not mature. This book is a must read - over & over. Excellent tips for any relationship. Helpful for teenagers dealing with bullies at school. Next time someone is bending your ear about problems at work, hand them a copy of MEAN GIRLS AT WORK.

I had high hopes for this book...
If you know nothing about people and have never been to therapy this book might help you. But, if you are looking for substantive help for work place dysfunction, this is not it. It's repetitive and offers no real solutions other than don't react, learn how to breathe and find an outside professional mentor. Oh, and don't tell your boss, but do start exercising. God forbid a man reads this and reduces all of the problems in his work place as women just being mean.

A must read for any woman who works with or ever will work with other women.
Kathi and Katherine demystify a topic that can be at once painful and baffling with wit and humor and provide practical advice on how to deal with difficult situations and difficult people. Sometimes I found Mean Girls at Work painful to read because of all the "ah ha!" moments I had. I enjoyed the way they broke down the different types of mean behavior into seven categories. There was a lot to think about. It is a must read for any woman who works with or ever will work with other women.
