This book may change your life
This book has changed my life, at least for the moment, too early to tell yet but I already feel better and so does my husband who loves any meat, especially steak. I had a few tears after reading the book as my whole belief system of nutrition and health crumbled away. Mike's research is exemplary so it would be nigh on impossible to doubt any of what he has written. I've been doing calorie counting, low fat everything, whole grain eating for years and it hasn't worked so I'm now trying a meat, sugar free, gluten free, low carb, resistance band training regime to see where that gets us. Thanks Mike for opening my eyes wide.

A refreshing and interesting read.
Lots of fact based evidence is included backing up the author's claims that most of what we all thought we knew about healthy eating and diets is wrong. Although there is some science it's not heavy going at all and an easy read for most. I would recommend this book for an alternative view on healthy eating and the problems associated with some of the more traditional approaches.

Eye opening and a very interesting and enlightening read.
Be prepared to re-access what you eat and how you exercise. Some things you thought were good for you are doing you harm. One word of caution though; as the author favours eating more meat and less bread, there should have been a warning about the potential for increased uric acid levels which could lead to painful gout. I suffered this myself recently, so be careful about the amount of meat and fish, also fructose, that you consume. Otherwise good advice.

Sound advice if you want to be healthier.
After many years of research on nutrition and experimentation with various diets and lifestyle changes, I realised that most carbohydrates left me feeling lacking in energy and low in mood. This book confirmed what I already knew through my previous research but also filled in a lot of missing pieces for me, especially with regard to exercise. I only wish I had found this book at the beginning of my health journey.

For the price I paid, the book is a good read
Eat Meat and Stop JoggingI eat meat and I have not jogged since I left school. In fact it hurts my back to run very far (impact forces) so I couldn't even if I wanted to. Consequently, I was intrigued by the title, which suggests that I was doing something right!Mike is clearly an expert and has done an enormous amount of research, as is evident from the book contents. The information is interesting and the ideas align with what I had already discovered independently: that I needed to eliminate refined carbohydrates from my food (and I have done so).Unfortunately, this is only half a book. At the end of it, the reader is asked to write a review in order to get discount on the next half of the book, titled "Live it not Diet!" So one star away for that subterfuge. In addition, the book has numerous errors in punctuation and grammar, plus a few spelling mistakes - all of which should have been corrected by either Mike or his Copy Editor. Another star away. For the price I paid, the book is a good read. It would be better if combined with the second half and if the English were corrected. However, I do understand marketing and the need to make a quick book (pun intended) so I'm prepared to forgive the author, provided that the second (half of the) book lives up to its promises. Like many people, I need to lose 3 stone - permanently - so, if the book can guide me to do that, it will easily be worth full price.

Intriguing read!
The title of this book really caught my attention. I have always been interested in the different ways in which people successfully achieve a healthy weight, but more importantly the way in which this can be maintained. With the amount of fad diets available, and "get thin quick" methods online, it's really important to understand what really helps a person to achieve a healthy weight.I really enjoyed reading this book! It gave me a lot of insight into the realities of food and what's in them. It isn't just about counting calories to keep a person's weight under control, and their bodies healthy. It's been drilled into us for so long that high cholesterol is caused by saturated fats, but this book argues that. And the points made within make perfect sense.Although it's a very controversial issue, this book targets all of the areas needed to argue the author's point perfectly. It has definitely made me think and look differently at my own food intake!

Innovative reading and a thoroughly refreshing change
I've read a lot of dieting and fitness books over the years and, due to the rather provocative title, this one immediately caught my eye. It has long been realised by many that dieting doesn't work in the longer term, and yet diet fads still seem to come and go with alarming regularity. This book turns the dieting industry completely on its head as it challenges current ways of thinking including restricting calories to lose weight and blaming saturated fat for heart disease. The book is organised into a series of common mistakes that we make in our efforts to lose weight and shape up so is easy to dip in and out of. Written in a friendly and conversational style I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is feeling disillusioned with the dieting industry and with current widely held ideas. Innovative reading and a thoroughly refreshing change.
