great hedge shears
After a weekend of pruning the hedges with the Hedge Shears I can give my first opinion:*I've had much more expensive shears that felt exactly the same. It is solid, there's no play in the blades and the handles are nice and grippy*the blased cut very well intially. After two hours of work I can guesstimate that after another session, a bit of sharpening might help. Most amateur gardners likely may use them for a year without issues and sharpen them in the winter*they aren't very long, but not too short either. Probably a good siwe for 4 feet tall hedges to be trimmed confortably*I guess I think why some complained about the handles coming off; if you don't get the movement, one may overdo it and press too much on the shears. If they don't close when you firts press, don't prss any further; just open and press fast again; no force*also, it you find a thick branch, use brach shears which have short blades and are made for the purposeOn the downsides, I'd say the fast the blades aren't oiled is a bad thing, and nowhere do they say that after usage one should clean them and apply some oil to keep the rust away. Still, someone that knows what they're doing doesn't need that info, so I won't knock a star down for this.Overall I'd recommend this to anyone that has done hedge trimming before and knows what they're doing, or are willing to experiment. For beginners I guess I'd recommend something more expensive somewhat overbuilt. This is what you need and nothing more.

Small jobs only
I disliked for the big jobs, but the small ones they were great.

I say Yes!
An inexpensive solution to trimming shrubs and plants that wilt over my paths or simply grow out of control. Has speeded up the whole process of managing the garden. Am not a hedge person and doubt these would cope with a large privet hedge or anything sturdier like a beech hedge, but suggest they are perfect for the 'lightweight' gardener who just wishes to prune or trim. I would not describe them as full size, but they are big enough for my purposes (I keep a small and diverse/pretty garden that came with the property. I am not an enthusiast, I merely 'manage'). 9/10 and recommended.

A good hedge shear....
... for trimming new shoots and branches and maintaining an already shaped hedge. Good for trimming the lawn edges. Overall, good value for the price. However, if to use for thicker branches this cannot replace the electric hedge shears.

Handle comes off
Handle keeps coming off as from first use. Blade is OK though and cuts through think branches (at least now that it's still new).
