Imogen's feelings over Hank are causing a few issues so banned from the kitchen she decides to head off and look into the death of the governor of Cauclaustra the paranormal prison.Along the way she discovers Princess Shadays beloved and their amazing skills and also Horace.. innocent Imogen believes he's misunderstood.. will he finally show her his true colours?When another monster is released who will be able to defeat it and prove they are worthy of ruling the fire kingdom?

This book was exciting and enjoyable. Imogen loves Hank, but he has got to marry Shaday, a princess. There were characters who were created to be opposing sides and were believable in their roles. Treachery was rife and the suspense ramped up the story.

As with all the books in this series I loved this book. I was glad to see the love triangles work them selves out and enjoyed learning more about one of the other kingdoms .I'm really looking forward to the next book!

Another interesting book in the series. There are fires and spice and a clutter of dysfunctional families, it makes interesting points about love, friends and family without being preachy and is both fun and thought provoking

Summer of 2018 can't come quick enough. I honestly thought she was going to leave with horace. I'm so glad in a way she didn't but it would be nice to see how their relationship goes

I enjoyed this as well as the rest of series, it is a nice twist on the discovering a new world with magic and baking

As usual full of twists and turns. A great read!
