French Chef: Julia Child's French Classics

Good. The cooking program was about 60 years ago so there are a couple of imperfections in the video but not too bad, and the audio is good. The DVD contains recipes I wanted and Julia Child is such a kick to watch. I recommend it.

Not that long into the recipe for Quiche-Lorraine started to get a some interferenceThen it it just froze and froze for about 30 seconds I thought it wasn't going to unfreezebut it did....Wonder if every disc made for this "special french chef addition" does what minedid. Other than that I already knew i would enjoy watching Julia and her very beginning shows(in black & white) too. You don't have to like to cook to enjoy just watching her do her thing in thekitchen...and i mean "watch" her she's not elegant and she's a little clumsy sometimes loses trackof time and gets ahead of herself YOU KNOW like the rest of us get LIKE NORMAL like I said beforeunpretentious. Never been anyone else like her then or since

I've been a fan of Julia Child since I was a kid and my mom used to watch these shows on PBS when they were first aired. The quality of the video seems good, it is amazing that she did all of this live. Julia was so not Food Network material and sadly she would never have gotten a show in this day and age of Bobby Flay and EVOO Rachel Ray!

First saw Julia on TV many years ago when these episodes were first aired. She is funny, knows her French food, and can really draw you in to cooking in the French way. These episodes are some of the best. You have to understand though that they aren't of the quality we expect from today's shows but that's what makes them so appealing, in my opinion.

Would it really have killed the people who made the DVD to find, in 2014, a sophomore AV college student to match up the video and audio? I mean seriously, there is NO WAY it could have been that difficult or expensive. Charge us all an extra dollar then. Sheesh.

This is a great value for those new to Julia or for buyers for all her other DVD's as I am. There is only one episode repeat (Quiche Show). Recipe's may repeat, but were in subsequent years. Well worth the price drop from original release to $8.95 at this point in time.

Some cooking shows can be a little dry, or annoying, or boring. JULIA CHILD'S FRENCH CLASSICS is none of the above. The lady is a natural raconteur; she would be a great dinner-party guest. I would enjoy this video even if I did not give a hoot about cooking.

How can we not be satisfied with Julia Child,I learn so much with her and still do, with her books and video it is so easy to do what she took so much time to teach us.She is unique.

This is an opportunity to learn the easy way to cook French food.
