Great book to learn from
Bought this for my daughter and she loves it. The graphics are similar to some of the Anime she likes and also some of the Nintendo games e.g. Prof Layton. The examples are clearly set out and provide a basis for working your own ideas.

Amazing book!!
This has to be the best instinctual art book I have brought. It reads like a class with detailed instructions of equipment needed and steps for each project, there is also a wealth of tutorial videos available via QR code. Full of beautiful images and author insights. A must have!!

One of the best books about urban sketching.
I received this book yesterday… and I absolutely love it.I was initially in two minds about purchasing it, because I don’t colour with markers, and I have no intention of colouring with markers. But having downloaded the book sample to my kindle app, I had a good feeling about it.I’m so glad I made the decision to buy it.I’d recently hit a dry patch with my sketching. I was a bit lost, not knowing what direction to take. I totally lacked motivation. But this book has been a game-changer.Already, I’ve learned how to apply Kiefer’s loose approach to linework. My sketches were far too stiff, but this book has described how I can loosen up in my approach. It has been a revelation, and I’m suddenly excited about sketching again.I use watercolour rather than coloured markers to colour my artwork. But although the book is geared to using markers, I will adapt the advice and information to suit using watercolour.Chapter 3, The Projects, is worth the price of the book alone. I am so re-energised, particularly by this particular chapter. I had actually stopped sketching altogether, stupidly waiting for something to come along and re-motivate me.And, totally out of the blue, this book did it.If you’re in two minds about purchasing this book, like I was… please go for it. I’m convinced that it will make a difference to your creativity.Already, it is making a big difference to mine.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing book.
Loved the book. Has become my instant favourite on the bookcase (and I have a lot of art and craft books!). I wish all art books were as user friendly and colourful as this, it’s really easy to follow and so informative and based at adult level, not at children, though no reason children couldn’t have a go. I really like how each project has all of the steps and he doesn’t skip over anything. I haven’t tried the qr codes to the videos yet, as still reading through the book, but amazing content. I highly recommend both this book and the course on domestika. Well worth the purchase. Very happy with book.

Sketching houses and buildings
This is a great book by Albert Kiefer, explaining his own approach to sketching. It is detailed with many examples, QR codes to watch process clips and a nice layout. The best part is that the author generously embellished the book with his own works making it a piece of art itself.

Great book if you can overlook minor print errors
This is an excellent and informative sketching resource and I’m thoroughly enjoying every page. Have managed to loosen off my tendency for perfection for a much more adjoining and fun style. Dropped one star due to print errors (some marker numbers are wrong) and because the chosen coated paper stock is not the right choice for this type of book (colours represent differently in print anyway but this paper makes them look way off). Otherwise I would highly recommend.
