MOVALL MP105 Green Martian Overdrive Guitar Effect Pedal

95% + of the original DX sound
Got this as a spare and it does not disappoint. I put it side by side with an Ibanez DX and it's close enough. The DX has more bass in reserve and the Movall has slightly more clarity out the box - which might be less problematic for the general user.As usual, all 5s for value and performance.

Underestimated and Misunderstood
I own most Movall pedal, including this one and the TS9DX it's based on. It's not based on it, really. It's a 1:1 clone. The reviewer who says it's muddy has clearly never used a TS9DX. It's so muddy that it's usability is very limited. I use the Green Martian in place of the TS9DX because it's true bypass and the TS9DX makes my clean tone sound terrible. It's true that the jacks don't hold cables. I velcro Movall pedals on my board pressed against adjacent pedals. That's a small gripe not worth returning a $30 over. A bigger issue for some might be that the enclosure material isn't great at blocking EMF interference. I have experience modifying and rehousing pedals, and enjoy those kinds of projects but I understand it would be a hassle for others who use pedals near computers or other EMF sources. I deducted a star for the jacks and another for the EMF interference but I added one back because the entire lineup is very affordable and nearly all of them sound great. It's hard to find such great tones in affordable pedals and they're really unique. I can't think of another line that has a Tube Sound fuzz, an MI Audio Tube Zone, and a Deluxe Memory Man- style vibrato delay. Easy recommendation.

Compared with a TS, this sounds cheap. Input jack didn't lock the patch cord in.
This is just fine if you're brand new to peals and amps. The sound quality is ok. It has some of the transparent overdrive feel switched to TS9. TS+ sounds ok, a little muddy. The other settings were too bassy and muddy. Overall the tone was lacking. I have a large TubeScreamer I'm trying to replace, and this pedal did not come near the tone or creaminess of the real thing. Also, the one I got, the input cable kept popping out. The tip didn't lock in. Opened the pedal to see if I could bend the metal tab to lock on to the tip better, but the jacks are in a plastic housing. Returned

Surprisingly great
I didn’t expect much for this price. But this little guy definitely gets the job done. Build quality seems solid but we’ll see how it holds up.

Just as good as a TS9
This pedal was just as good as the original Tube Screamer with a few other tweaks and options for 1/3rd the price. Try it, you'll like it!!!

Strange boost
This boost is strange.i don't think this is based off of the ts stuff.the hot mod seems to only add bass and a tad bit more gain.cant crank it.if I wasn't past the return date I'd send it back.for 30$ it's okay.not something I'll buy again.seems to clip my signal but In a very unorthodox way.
