Used Simoniz Engine Paint (Satin Black) to refresh a steel bike carrier, and it performed brilliantly. Although it’s marketed for engines, it handled the job with no complaints—smooth application, even coverage, and a clean satin finish that looks sharp without being glossy. It dried quickly and didn’t require any special prep beyond a basic clean and scuff. No drips, no clogging, and no fuss. The result feels durable and professional, and it’s held up well so far against light scuffs and weather. For a spray paint that’s easy to use and gives great results, this one’s a winner—even beyond engine bays.

Really impressed by the ease of application of this paint and the resulting finish. An excellent alternative to the much more expensive PJ1 Fast Black. No primer required so an effortless solution for any job needing a hassle free satin black paint coat.

Excellent paint leaves a great finnish. Plenty of paint to do the job .

Good coverage. The parts I have sprayed look like new . One thing to be aware of is that the paint does smell when the engine part you have sprayed gets hot ,so run the engine when the paint is dry for a while so the cures under the extra heat then the smell will go . It may smoke but don't worry about it.

Excellent and smooth paint coverage. Colour is definitely satin black. Much better than a well known high street car centre brand.
