may not be sufficient for larger projects
As a customer who has used the Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar, I am providing a review outlining the good and bad aspects of this item. The good:1. Pre-mixed convenience: The pre-mixed formulation of the Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar saves time and effort by eliminating the need for manual mixing. This makes it convenient for quick repairs and small-scale projects.2. Easy application: The mortar has a smooth consistency, making it easy to apply and work with. It spreads evenly and adheres well to various surfaces, providing a reliable bond for repairs and maintenance tasks.3. Versatile use: This general-purpose mortar is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It can be used for a wide range of repair and maintenance projects, including filling cracks, patching damaged surfaces, and fixing loose bricks or tiles.4. Durable and weather-resistant: The Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar is designed to withstand the elements, providing long-lasting performance. It is resistant to weather conditions, including rain, frost, and UV exposure, ensuring durability in both indoor and outdoor settings. The bad:1. Limited quantity: The product is available in a 5kg size, which may not be sufficient for larger projects. Users should consider the scale of their repair or maintenance task and purchase multiple containers if needed.2. Color options: The Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar is available only in a grey color. While this may suit most applications, it may not be an exact match for certain surfaces or desired aesthetics. It is advisable to test a small area or consider alternative color options if color matching is crucial. In summary, the Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar offers several advantages, including pre-mixed convenience, easy application, versatility, and durability. It is a reliable choice for interior and exterior repairs and maintenance tasks. However, the limited quantity and color options should be considered based on the project requirements. If you have smaller repair or maintenance needs and are looking for a convenient and reliable mortar, the Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar could be a suitable choice for you.

Does the job but didn't go far
We bought this product for an external repair on some patio steps and it was easy to use and worked well. I have a reasonable degree of common sense but am just a home DIYer and I repaired the step without any issue. My only concern with the product was that it really didn't go very far at all so if you need something for a larger repair then this could become a very expensive option to go for. So it's good for the smaller one off jobs but not great for the bigger ones. The other thing to consider is the colour when dried because it does go a very light grey. My repair definitely wasn't the prettiest but it's an area of the garden where it didn't particularly matter but if you are working in a more prominent area where the visual impact of the repair is important I'd suggest trying a very small amount first because it's not really something you can undo if you don't like how it looks after the job has been done.It works well but I'd suggest proceeding with caution and to make sure it is the product for you before you buy it for the above reasons.

Lovely mortar mix - shame about the colour
The colour of the mortar is the only downside that I have found so far. It is of a light grey colour when fully dried after some days. It is therefore not really suitable for patching or repointing the mortar in most brickwork as the colour is different. Traditionally, Portland cement was mixed with Builder's sand which is of a yellow-brown tint giving the fully dried mortar a slightly beige colour, not grey. I first used this product to replace a layer of cement on top of a small circular drain for waste water as it was badly cracked. Normally there would be a grill and the waste water pipe would be positioned just above. For some reason my waste water drain pipe for the downstairs toilet sink was put down into the drain rather than above, when the house was built around 1969. I had to glue aluminium mesh to the base of the drain a day before adding the mortar so that it would not go down the drain. I did not go by the instructions to add a certain amount of water and preferred to add water until a good consistency was achieved with only a slight trickle of water seen after mixing. It dried well and nice and hard. It was workable for quite a while. The light grey colour was not a problem in this case. My next job was to replace the cracked mortar around a small drain cover used for cleaning out the waste water gulley. That job was perfect and yet again the light grey colour was not a problem. However, another job is to repoint a few bricks that have broken mortar. The colour will not match and I will have to buy a small amount of Portland cement and mix my own mortar with Builder's sand that I have spare from previous jobs. There is still plenty of mortar mix left in the tub after my first two jobs - seems to go a long way when doing small jobs. I may be able to find other jobs to use the mortar that is left but not for brickwork unfortunately. As I was doing my two first jobs on different days and using only small amounts, I mixed the mortar required in a builder's bucket each time. A great product but they should have got the colour right.
