The media could not be loaded. So far I’m happy with this product.Installation: This unit was mostly straightforward to install using videos and reviews available online. There are a few mistakes that can slow things down. First - be very careful to not strip the bracket screws when removing the starlink black box. The bracket needs to be removed for the box to fit back in. Use the correct size Phillips driver or it will strip the screw head. Second, to use the OEM USB port make sure to order the adaptor mentioned in the other reviews and plug it into the USB2 connector on this head unit (not USB1). Otherwise the connectors are impossible to mess up because they only fit in one place. Whole process took me about 3 hours including research and prep.Performance: so far the head unit seems to be good. It can play 1080p videos from YouTube, access the google play store, and gets great sound quality. The bluetooth wireless airplay sometimes disconnects randomly but is strong most of the time. I’m told the mic quality is not very good on calls.Service: Cheney is very responsive and extremely helpful. I messaged with 2 questions and the team was able to help me fix them within minutes.Overall the product looks good and performs well.

Great CarPlay Stereo for my Subaru Legacy 2016, installations is easy just having some common sense and a little bit of patience, all perfect from the wheel controls you can customize each of the buttons in a very easy way, GPS working all good, all connections are really plug and play I don’t have previous experience and I could do it in 40 mins. Just get some tools to disassemble from amazon for les than 5usd so you don’t scratch your cockpit, also I got a USB SU to USBA adapter for less than 10usd and USB ports from factory are working just perfect. I am susprised with the customization options I have in this audio system, much better than my old stock radio, even quality of the sound is better and stronger. BTW yes, there are some themes where you can change to miles/hr.The only detail I had on my side is that I forgot to connect some wires at the beginning but Cheney from costumer service was great and supported with detailed info to solve that very fast.Definitely I can recommend this product based on my experience!!!

I own a 2018 Subaru Outback Limited (which features the Harmon Kardon sound system) that unfortunately had the delaminating screen issue on the stock head unit. I was not willing to pay the $1700 for a new stock unit.With previous vehicles, I have replace the radios for something with better sound quality and a better UI, but had never been truly satisfied. I am someone who likes she feel and aesthetic of a stock radio. So when the delamination started, I was very disappointed.I wanted something with wireless CarPlay, but didn’t want to fork out the $1000 for a big name unit. However, I have the mindset that you get what you pay for. So when doing my research, I found this unit, which had fantastic reviews everywhere I searched. I was skeptical, but willing to give it a shot, and it was well worth it.As I stated in the title of this review, the installation instructions are very basic and provide little to no direction other than, connect anything that lines up. This was exactly true! A lot of the connectivity is built in to the harness provided. I had to purchase a separate harness for the HK system, but the same rule applied.The only serious issue that I came across was the stock back up camera functionality. There are two wires on the rear that are labeled “back”, but were different colors. I was hesitant to connect them, assuming that if they need to be tied together, it should have been done by the factory. However, reaching out to the customer support agent, Cheney, he assisted me with everything I needed. His contact info is in another review below. He is quick to respond and will find you an answer. I appreciate the customization that the system has with the turning lines and adjustments. I was able to back up to a parking spot and set the parameters that work for my vehicle rather quickly. Plus, you can customize the color of the stock camera to improve its picture quality.The only other problem I had was the balance between the speakers. I found that the system favors the passenger side of the vehicle. This was an easy fix with the balance control in the “Equalizer” app. In terms of sound quality, the system gives you much more control, but doesn’t necessarily improve the sound. If you know how to adjust the EQ, you can tune it for your liking. I prefer to boost the very lows (20-40hz) for more of a thump in the drum kicks, as well as the high ends to give a better “fidelity” sound.My only comment for improvement would be the ability to use your stock vehicle microphone. The internal mic is rather soft in a phone call, and the external mic provides the extra work you don’t want to deal with. If everything else that is stock is able to work, it would be great to include that as well.Overall, this product is superb, especially for the price! The CarPlay connects within seconds, the radio function is pretty clear (certainly not HD radio, but it will do) and the customization is phenomenal. I would recommend this radio for anyone who has a very basic idea of vehicle electronics. Unfortunately there aren’t any great install videos online, but with the excellent customer service, you are sure to be in great hands.
