If you travel by plane, you know the luggage routine: Pull out your bathroom scale. Stand on it. Record your weight. Stand on it again with your full suitcase. Record the weight. Subtract your weight from the combined number. Hope it's accurate.It's a pain, so I thought this little device would be the perfect solution. It is... sort of. Spoiler alert: It's a bit awkward to use.We used it at home on two suitcases that were going on an international trip. We did the bathroom scale method, then used one of these portable luggage scales, and compared. The portable luggage scales were within a pound of the bathroom scale, so we felt like they were going to be reasonably accurate.I took the portable scale to the airport, and weighed each bag with it immediately before placing each bag on the airport scale. Again, the result was within a pound, for luggage that came right to the edge of the maximumm weight limit.I am very pleased with that, and will use these for every trip.The biggest negative is that it is really awkward to weigh your suitcase. You loop the strap around your luggage handle, turn on the scale, and then do an arms-straight-out dead lift. It is surprisingly difficult to do that with a 50 pound bag!But on the other hand, it is a very small device that you can easily carry with you, so that you can weigh your luggage again before coming home with all of those extra souveneirs. I recommend this item for frequent travelers.

I like that this is small, easy to use, and seems to be accurate. To test it, I got a suitcase and put some weights in it. I measured before and after the weights and the change in weight seemed to be accurate. It has Kg, lbs, and also temperature measurements in degrees C and degrees F. Hooking the bag on was easy with the strap they include and it is light and small enough to just carry with you. In the end, it is a great solution for checking the weight of your bags.
