I bought this second guessing, but turned out great light and easy to use tool , I bought it because I was to lazy to drag my weld to the car to weld a broken sway bar , and on top of it used a 3k watt generator and a 50 ft extension cord and 6011 rod and didn't even clean metal surface breaking all the rules of welding and this puppy got her done , good buy for the moneys and little small well jobs pick shows my quick lazy weld , not the best weld but she's holding and done do judge me lol

To answer the questions that I first had when I saw this welder: Yes, it works. Is it useful? It depends. Don't get fooled by the design. It looks like a power drill but it's much bigger and heavier. There are some very small welders out there for little money that do the same for the same price. The only big advantage this has is that is saves the cable and the external clamp. This makes this more compact and easier to deploy. It also makes it more difficult to weld. Since it's all about flow and movement, handling a clamp is easier than holding the whole welder. But again: It works. With a welding mask or goggles (I highly recommend NOT using the included one), proper gloves, some tools, it won't save that much space but it fits in a box and can travel along. I ditched the included case because it's too soft. Five stars from me. Just be aware that it doesn't make welding easier just because it looks less complicated. I hope this helps to make a decision.
