JDSLABS C5 Headphone Amplifier Red

It sounds great whether I'm using it as a pc usb audio output or with an ipod classic and an line out dock cable. I use it with several different headphones and earbuds and it brings out the best in all of them.Note that the title says C5 but I received a C5D do it does do USB audio.

Bought to replace my filo e11; was delivered on time. This amp is amazing, the build quality is superb. On bass boost my custom pro ones hit like subwoofers. Would recommend this to anybody looking for awesome sound from your cans. UPDATE, AFTER 5 MONTHS IT STOPS PLAYING AUDIO AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND CAN RETURN OR REPLACE. I LOVE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have been using this amplifier for over couple of month. This amplifier has few issues whichmade me use it less than other amplifiers, and less and less over time.1) The head room of amplifier is not sufficient for the non-highly compressed music such as well recorded classical music. For most of the highly compressed recent music releases, they are just fine. But, for widely dynamic and uncompressed music, this just does not have enough headroom for my taste.2) Physically the unit that I received had very poor fit and finish. The cover plate had mis-fit/mis-alignment. That front plate was flush on one side, and had enough gap to fit my index finger nail into the misfit. The misfit was over 0.02" wide. Secondly, the edges on the cover plate was NOT de-burred and was sharp enough be cause cut to fingers. Apparently, there is little or no quality check of the parts being shipped.3) The sound quality is better than CMoy amplifier ( it should with its higher cost), but not as much as I expected. Comparing this amplifier with the HP laptop (Beat Audio), there is not much difference in my opinion, and the HP Envy Laptop had higher dynamic than this amplifier.Overall, I could live with this unit, but this is not an amplifier that is exceptional, but rather averagein performance, and poor fit to boot. Apparently, there is little of no quality check on the productshipped. Time to try other amplifiers.

This is my first amplifier and I must say I am very pleased. Very easy to use.

Upgraded from a FiiO e11 to a JDS Labs C5, which just arrived in the mail today. I wanted an upgrade no matter what, and I had to decide whether I wanted to stay FiiO and go with an e12 or branch off into something new. After doing some research I settled on the C5, and after directly comparing to my FiiO e11, I knew I made the right choice almost instantly. I may not know how the e12 sounds, and I don't care: this C5 is unreal and I am more than happy that I went with JDS Labs. It just sounds amazing, and the output is just much better than the e11 by far. Basically, when all is said and done, this amp was worth every penny - there isn't any doubt in my mind. If you're willing to drop the cash, I highly recommend this JDS Labs C5. Since it may be relevant to others doing research, I'm using this amp to drive my Sennheiser HD 800s.Now, much like the previous two reviewers of this product, I also feel obligated to address the joke of a 1 star review on this product, which is seriously absurd beyond all belief and should be ignored. He concluded his 'review' with, "I left the replacement amp junk unopened in the packing. I wrote my money off." Even assuming this user 'Rampage' isn't a troll, how can he actually call something junk if you leave it in the packaging? I don't know what happened that you needed a replacement, Rampage, but don't review a product if you aren't going to even bother actually using it. The only "junk" here is your joke of a review. Your username is all too appropriate, but keep your unjustified hate to yourself.Ignore the hate - this product is incredible and worth every cent.

Just to give justice to this product reviewed by some angry bird who don't even owned this product. I owned c5 for a couple of months which i bought locally and it has been amazing. I previously own the older FIIO E7 years back and basically there's nothing to compare. You can notice the big difference whatever headphones you use. The bass switch is fantastic and this product deserve a 5 star considering its price and sound quality.
