Q: Help! bought the blueair filter 200/300 hepa filter for a relative with asthma. no install directions? and what good is it she has the regular filter

The thin carbon filter goes between the normal particle filter and the door. Just lay it in and close the door. ... Can't comment on benefit for Asthma.

Q: How do you install this?

It fits between the back of the filter and the mesh on the door. I tried to fit it in front of the filter first, but the filter wouldn't fit behind it. It seemed odd because the carbon filter for the air cleaner is on the inside part of the filter.

Q: How long before you replac them?

Depends how dirty they are. Not sure if is washable. I guess I will keep it until I need to replace the main one which is every 6 months

Q: Does using this void the warranty?

The carbon filter is an option for the Blueair 200 series purifiers. From page 7 of the manual: Optional carbon filter. Includes a filter with active carbon to remove gaseous pollutants such as cigarette and cigar smoke or other VOCs (volatile organic compounds, including household paints and other chemicals). You may notice a slight odor from the active carbon when the filter is first used; this will quickly dissipate.
