I needed this for persistent ankle pain 8 months after total ankle replacement. My doctor ordered a custom carbon fiber AFO through a posthetist, but that is taking a long time to get, so I decided to try this despite all the negative reviews. I received it a few hours ago and had no trouble putting it in place (no trimming needed since I use size 14 shoe) and have experienced immediate relief for the first time in months. For those who have posted that it is uncomfortable or that the plastic part of the AFO causes pain or blisters, I wonder if they are inserting it on top of instead of below the insert or orthotic. You need to remove the insert or orthotic from of your shoe, insert the AFO into the shoe, then place the shoe insert or orthotic between the AFO and foot. Your foot should be in contact with the shoe insert or custom orthotic, not in contact with the AFO plastic

Best brace I’ve used! I have bought other ones and returned them. I’ve even used a specialty top notch brace from the orthopedic, but this one tops them all! Very comfortable, durable, and lightweight. Fits perfectly into my shoe and I’m able to be on my feet all day without any problems. Will buy again!

I keep hoping that I will find a light brace that will help with my drop foot and neuropathy. I only had to take one look and know that this brace was not going to help. Why?1. The very, very narrow plate for the bottom of the foot will cut into the sides of wide and/or swollen feet.2. The brace arrived with no instructions except for the lines on the bottom of the toe for cutting.3. Cutting will not be easy without heavy scissors or clippers and, after cutting the edges will have to be sanded to avoid cuts when worn.4. The bottom plate is smooth, hard plastic. It slides in socks, on carpet...it slides.5. The bottom strap is a loose velcro strip with a small round velcro sticky glue tab for attaching to the brace. It really doesn't do much to brace the leg and foot. It is just kind of there.Oddly, the top part brace that fits the calf is well padded and comfortable. The velcro is extra-long and it is easy to attach.I have tried a lot of braces and wraps and I could immediately see that the foot plate would be the cause of multiple problems I didn't even attempt to cut or wear it. I didn't want to end up on the floor because of the slick plate going out from under me.If this brace works for you, great. But it is not for me. Returned..

This works well for me. I did not need to buy a bigger size shoe, can use it in my shoes I already have. I wish it had the toes raised, but so far it’s working for me.

Did nothing for me. Returned it. On the other hand I have severe foot drop from back problems.

Best low profile ankle foot orthosis with good stability and support. Measurement recommendations were correct. Very easy to adjust with clear instruction. Would definitely recommend highly.

I have had 5 different AFO’s over the last 6 years and this one is by far the best I have ever had. I have MS and very weak ankle strength on my right leg that has foot drop. I put this AFO on and wanted to really test it and tried jumping and could land normally. Walking has been a huge difference with this AFO and I am not as fearful to move about outside of my normal environment!
