My First Touch and Feel Picture Cards: Animals (My First Board Books) Review: A must have fun, learning tool for parents! - DK is my go to brand when it comes to books and flashcards to help my toddler expand her vocabulary. I have bought several of their books and 3 sets of flashcards and never have they disappointed. I have tried other brands but I always go back to DK because I love the picture quality and beautiful design that their products consistently produce. I first bought this set of Animal flashcards and soon after purchased First Words and Colors and Shapes. We love them all and I can’t wait to get the other sets like Counting. What I like about them: -First off the 16 cards come in a sturdy cardboard container with a strong piece of velcro to keep it closed. That makes it easy to take with you wherever your kid goes for on the go learning. - The touch and feel aspect is very high quality. 15 of the 16 cards has a texture that can be felt on the page (a higher percentage than most touch and feel books on the market). - The cards are also very sturdy and thick. Ours have withstood a lot of rough toddler play. My daughter loves to throw these around haha - For bilingual parents, these cards have the words translated into Spanish, French, German, and Chinese on the back of each card - Each card has the name of the animal printed in a thick, easy to read font in all lowercase letters. - Each card has 4 suggested questions you can ask your child to engage your child in learning helping them to identify the animal name, colors, textures, sounds, first letter of the word, and imitate animal movements. That makes these great for babies as young as 6 months or so up to 5 or 6 years old when they are learning to read. I would suggest the Animals set or the First Words set for the younger babies/toddlers first. My 17 month old is only barely starting to pick up on the Colors and Shapes set though what I love about that one is for those young ones you can focus on the image rather than it’s color/shape until they are ready for that. Review: Educational and sturdy! - These cards are the gift I buy for all family and friends with young children for many, many years. They are wonderful! They are solid, educational and children love them.

Nice cards
All animal cards have a textured fuzzy, furry, feathery, smooth etc feel to it. My Granddaughter has played with them since she was 12 mo. So we go through them at least once a day for 4 months. She loves them. Pulls them out of the box herself. We makes sounds or find the dog etc. Great interaction cards.

I have three sets of these cards, the animals, the first words, and colors & shapes. Let me start by saying in general I love these flash cards and so does my son. He’s 19 months and has been playing with them for months. The cards are thick and sturdy and come in a nice box. He’s very rough on them but they’re still going. There are teaching suggestions on the back for how to use the cards, but the lessons are way too advanced for us at the moment. We like to lay all the cards out and say a word and have my son pick out the correct card. I also LOVE that they use real pictures and not drawings which can sometimes be too abstract for a baby to a understand what it is. Of all of the sets I have, this one is my favorite. My little guy loves animals and these are really easy to learn animals. Some of the only criticism is that I find that some cards are repeats throughout the sets. This set uses a fish, a duck, a kitten and a puppy, which are all used in the other sets as well. I wish each set had unique words/pictures. And there is a problem with the zebra card not having actual stripes on the touch and feel part. And some cards, like the fish, have more of a visual effect, but it doesn’t have any special feel to it.

My daughter love these!
My First Touch and Feel Picture Cards: Animals is a great book for helping children to develop their language and sensory skills. It is also a great way to introduce children to the world of animals. The cards are made of sturdy cardboard and can withstand a lot of wear and tear. pictures are large and colorful, The textured elements on the cards are fun for children to touch and feel. The cards include the animal's name in English and Spanish. Overall, I highly recommend My First Touch and Feel Picture Cards: Animals to any parent or caregiver looking for a great book to introduce their young child to animals.

18 month old loves it
These cards were so great in helping her learn how to recognize and say the name of the animal. She loves to pull them out of the box and make the sound that animal makes. But while they are not paper thin she had no problem bending them and trying to take a bite out of the cards so watch out for that. But overall a great learning tool and I would definitely recommend

Best Word Cards
We aboslutely love the Touch and Feel word cards made by this brand. We had the Lovevery touch and feel cards with my oldest and managed to save a few that we brought out for our youngest, but several were missing, and a few were in pretty rough condition from being played with, gummed/chewed, and drooled on. So many baby/toddler flash cards are just paper or the "sensory" feature is just bumpy silicone or shiny paper. These cards a thick, and have so many different textures for the kids to explore. We have the first words and animals pack and use them both all of the time in so many ways.
