Superb quality tool defiantly worth paying a little extra!
What a great peace of kit! Bought for my Son who is an apprentice carpenter, he sharpens all his own chisels and his mates chisels. This model has variable speed and forward and reverse, the build quality is excellent!!! Very Very pleased with it!

Great value machine.
Fairly impressed with this. Represents good value for money. Had no issues with alignment of the wheel reported by others. Thought the abrasive seems to erode faster than I expected, considering that so far I have only been using very modest pressure. Although I have had nothing to compare it to.So far have only sharpened knives and wood chisels, been quite happy with the results when finished off with an old impregnated leather strop. Hopefully with more practice, will get sharper results straight off the machine.

Best variable omni directional slow speed tool grinder.
Absolutely the best at a better price than Axminster and abetter price than Record or Jet. Seems like to all copy each other. But they do say to copy is the greatest flattery. Perfect easy set up and I completed 4 full sets of wood working chisels from blunt with nail chips to razor sharp in just a few hours. OK I'm slow. But working one handed etc. It took twice as long. Why pay more for less features you will use. Ie variable and forward and reverse. Thank you for a good design.

shaft is bend
Very disappointed, main shaft wasn't straight.

Reversable rotation is very usefull,
I'm very happy with this product, having variable rotation means I can sit at a bench while sharpening, installing the guide bar at the front horizontally, the only downside was the stone had a very convex surface and you wont sharpen anything untill you get the stone flat, this took ages with the dressing stone, but overall the quality of the product and accessories is good,

I don’t usually write reviews
I don’t usually write reviews, but I was excited to use this to sharpen all my chisels. I’ll give it 5 stars for the speed control, but unfortunately the stone wheel doesn’t run straight—maybe I just got a bad one. I tested it on one chisel and it ended up sharpening at an angle. It’s also made in China, so I wouldn’t recommend it for professional use.
User
Not for knife sharpening.
Not the best for knife sharpening. The grit is too low and removes too much material. Leaving a massive burr. The leather stropping wheel is made out of plastic that’s flimsy and the leather just seems to fall apart after little use. Probably due to the aggressive grinding that leaves a huge burr.Probably ideal for wood work tools. But I’d recon the stropping wheel will fall to pieces in not time all the same.
User
Very good construction
Excellent machine for a small workshop, but does everything I need?
