Where it all began...
This is an excellent account of the early years of anarchism and how it became a distinctive current within the socialist movement in the context of the International Workingmen's Association. This book gives a clear exposition, from an anarchist point of view, of the debates and all the infighting which led to anarchism to separate from other socialist currents. Robert Graham has written some excellent anthologies of anarchist thinking in the past, so in a way, this book gives his account of how it all began. A very good introduction from an anarchist point of view (I have to insist on this point, as some events have alternative explanations depending on your ideological positioning) of a critical moment in the workers's movement history.
