Works great. We have been running it for about 4 months now without complaint. Value for the money! Wife and son both use it constantly. It keeps ice at all times. Best price point for "sonic" style ice pellets. Not too loud, handy lights on front to let you know when to add water. Easy fill without removing basket or pouring over ice.

I got the $169 one. Its great for what it is. It's a little loud when it barfs out the ice though. It looks good, a little big but good. The ice is small, soft and chewable. Melts sort of fast in a 16oz glass cup of coke. Not bad if you want something icy/watery. Clean it. The ice gets a strange taste if you don't. I used vinegar and water to clean it on self clean cycle then used distilled water to rinse it out. If the world ended, I'd find a way to make power and hook this thing up to it. Life would suck a little less with a cool drink *wink face thing I can't do the face keyboard nonsense*

0 Stars. Horrible Product. Worse Customer Service. Buyer Beware! So, outlined below is the history, correspondence and documentation to back up my zero star review. Purchased item from Amazon on 9/27/24. Roughly 6 months later, in April 2025, the ice maker started making a horrible grinding noise which our next door neighbors could hear. The noise only stopped if the machine was unplugged. This meant that it also rendered it ineffective and unusable. I reached out to Dan with Silonn Customer Support on 4/7/25. “New” ice maker was shipped. I use quotes because I honestly think the replacement was refurbished. However, exactly 6 months later, in October 2025, the machine experienced the same issue. I sent a follow up email to Dan on 10/20/25. After 2 emails were ignored, I called the actual customer service number. I spoke to a rep named Dylan. He immediately told me sales were the only group who could help me and offer the exception to replace the icemaker since the original purchase date is what they use for the one-year warranty. I was less than one month out. He must’ve repeated himself 3-4 times. After waiting about 3 days, someone from sales finally reached out to me, asking for the same documentation (ie Amazon invoice + short video) I previously forwarded to them. Almost 3 days later, they informed me that the one-year warranty had lapsed, and there was nothing they could do. However, as a courtesy, they provided me with a promo code for 10% off of services to get the machine repaired. What a joke. This is honestly some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The proof is in the pudding. The machine is clearly only built to last six months, which is absurd. With a price tag of $269.99, it should longer. Considering I’ve seen other brands/models for under $100 with 4-star reviews stating they lasted at 3+ years. I would definitely NOT recommend this icemaker to anyone. Let alone doing business with the company. Very disappointed in the way, this whole thing was handled.

It is really good and makes ice quickly. It is a very small basket of ice but definitely enough for two people

Original review: I just got home and opened this and am SO disappointed at the color. I paid EXTRA and waited LONGER for shipment only to find that it's NOT silver stainless steel. It's enough of a tint of aqua / blue that I thought it had a blue film on it but it's not - it's the color of the appliance. UPDATE: It IS a blue film - but it's so integrated that you would never know it. The company has now updated their product description on Amazon to explain that it is a protective film that must be peeled off. I have not taken it off yet as I'm still testing the product. So far it's a nice device but a little loud for me - not the sound of ice dropping but the whirring of the fan. With all the fans and air conditioners running in this heat it blends in - but once the season changes it will be running louder than my fridge. I will note a few things that others have posted: 1) the first batch of ice is 'weak' as the compressor has to come to temperature. 2) you DO need to remove the ice rather quickly and get it to your freezer and it IS quite wet which makes it clump together once in the colder temps of the freezer. To fix this I'm storing ice in a large Ziploc bag which I can bang on the counter easily to break it up as I add batches. 3) it was nice to leave it for a nap and wake up to a bunch of ice but if you left it too long it would just melt and regenerate. 4) I don't know if I could stand it running 24 hours a day but one person mentioned that helps the machine last longer. I would love to know what customer support says on that there's nothing in the booklet about it. 5) you do need to keep it pulled away from side and back walls - there are fans on both sides and an air Intake on the back. Keep this in mind. 6) the plug in the bottom (for draining during cleaning) is a little flimsy and feels like cheap plastic that could easily break. It's awkward blindly twisting it back in as you can't see what you're doing - and hoping you secured it before pouring more water in. 3 stars with it's limitations, watery ice and whirring sound that I wish were quieter. Wish they insulated the top just a little more to keep the ice from melting longer. But overall nice little machine. Will update rating and post if anything noteworthy changes... 8/7/24 Great size. Smaller footprint, lighter weight and quieter fan than the 'upgraded one'. Adorable little machine. Hope it lasts.

We love this ice machine. After reading many reviews and watching user videos, I decided on this one for its cost, ease of use and cleaning, ice production, and small size for sitting on the countertop. We use a lot of ice and our fridge ice maker does not work well sadly. We waited the recommended 24 hours, leaving the machine upright in the box. Then we loaded it with water, plugged it in, and pressed the button; it began making ice within 6 minutes. (we tossed the first 5 batches or so as rec.) It has a slight hum when it is on, but nothing bothersome to us. Some say this ice cannot be frozen, or it turns into a block of ice, but we figured out a way that works for us. Once the ice basket is full, we dump the ice in a bin in our freezer. After we get a good amount of ice in the bin, we break it up with an ice pic We may have to do this a couple of times, but we are ok with that for the amount of ice we can produce over a few hours. This is our second Silon ice machine. The first one turned on but never made ice. We returned with no hassle and ordered the one we now have. It just must have been a bad machine. We are thankful the return was easy.

My hubs LOVES Sonic ice! He craves it! There are a few other restaurants and places that have it and when he finds a place, he always gets an extra cup to munch on it. I've been looking for years to find a counter top ice maker that produces it and for years I could only find the original standalone machine that costs thousands. When people started producing counter top versions, the reviews weren't great. Recently, after several years, I decided to revisited this quest. I found hope in the newer machines that looked like they were getting closer. After pouring over reviews and descriptions, I decided on finally buying him this one for Christmas this year. I'm happy to report: The cubes are the perfect size for crunching! He says it could be just a tad more "watery" (whatever that means -- it's ice -- isn't it naturally watery?? -- But I'm not as fanatical about rabbit poop ice as he is), but he says "it is pretty darn close" and he loves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The machine produced ice almost instantly. I was impressed by how fast it worked. It's footprint on the counter is about the size of a normal-sized coffee maker. Our knife block with the knives stands taller than this machine. So it doesn't take up much space as I thought it would. The water capacity is pretty decent: it makes about 2 tumblers full of ice -- or 1 32oz convenient store plastic cups -- we'll have to experiment with making extra to store in the freezer but so far hes eating them as fast as its making them 😆 The quality of the machine is mostly plastic but seems sturdy and good. The loudness is not more than the exhaust fan on the stove, but as mentioned it doesn't take long for ice to be produced, so the machine doesn't run long. Over all, this was a great buy!! 👍

This ice maker was great while it lasted. Easy set up, and perfect pebble ice. It was a bit louder than I expected, but it wasn’t a big deal. However, it stopped working after only few weeks of using it. It started making really loud squeeky noise and didn’t make any more ice. Luckily, I was able to get a replacement for free. But, it started making the loud noise and is not making ice anymore again. I really like the slick look of it and thought it was priced well, but it obviously doesn’t last.

Ruckzuck sind die ersten Eiswürfel nach dem Einschalten fertig. Und weil sie so leise ist, stört sie überhaupt nicht. Wenn der Wassertank leer ist, oder der Eiswürfelkorb voll, stoppt sie automatisch - einfach perfekt! Sie hat bei uns bereits jetzt einen festen Platz in der Küche und ist seit den ersten warmen Tagen im Dauer Einsatz!

Really pleased with this machine. It’s quiet and makes either small or large bullet shaped ice very quickly. It comes with a white plastic scoop. Going to be used a lot in the summer!
