It's supposed to look like an 8 ball. I didn't expect it to be an actual 8 ball and have the gloss of an authentic pool ball but it is really cheap plastic looking. I don't know how to describe it exactly but it just doesn't have the look of an 8 ball. THEN...it fell off. I drove for two days satisfied enough to keep it until I find something I like better and as I shifted to second I found myself closer to the parking brake lever with an 8 ball in my hand. I dropped it in the corner pocket for the win just before ramming my stick into 3rd with no protection on the tip. Ok so I got home, broke out some super glue and was surprised to find it held very well. THEN....I decided to replace my shift boot and when I unscrewed the 8 ball the threaded insert split along the threads. Sort of unraveled. Or unwound. Like a spring. I sort of wound it back up and believe it or not I actually got the threads to line up and it threaded back on. I couldn't believe it! I twisted it down right and vowed to not touch it again until I have something to replace it with. Meanwhile I have completely restored an old Jeep but there's not much to tell there. All the adventure has been with this piece of crap 8 ball shift knob. Buy a good one and save yourself the aggravation of this thing.
