The spout cover cannot be locked open but the button on the handle is perfectly positioned to open the spout when your palm wraps the handle or easily push the button with your thumb. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty and simple booklet for instructions and product registration. Safe for induction cooking and all cooking types. There are cheaper kettles out there and was considering one but decided to go with this one because I like the look of it, it’s simple and it’s well made and I have a few other Kitchen Aid small appliances.
