Great Value Smart Plugs with Matter Protocol — Reliable, Affordable, and Future-Proof
I’ve been using smart plugs for years, but the Linkind Matter Smart Plug (4-pack) really stands out — and not just because they’re about half the price of some “big brand” options. What sets them apart for me is Matter protocol support. If you’ve been dabbling in smart home tech, you know how frustrating it is when devices only work in their own app or have quirky compatibility. With Matter, I set these up directly in Apple Home without juggling multiple manufacturer accounts. They also work with Alexa, Google, and SmartThings if that’s your ecosystem. 🔌 Setup: Super easy. I paired them with my HomePod in under two minutes — no separate app required. The option to use the AiDot app without a hub is a nice touch, too. ✅ Performance: - They respond instantly to voice commands and app controls. ⚡ - The offline-ready feature is a game changer — even if my internet goes down, my automations still work within my local network. - Compact design means I can plug two into the same wall outlet without wrestling with bulky adapters. Extra Features I Love: - Built-in scheduling is perfect for my morning coffee maker ☕ and evening lamps. - 15A/1800W rating is more than enough for heavier-duty devices like space heaters (though I still monitor for safety). - Fire-resistant materials and overload protection give peace of mind. 🔥 Pros: - Very affordable for a Matter-certified device 💰 - Wide compatibility (Apple, Alexa, Google, SmartThings) - Offline control capability - Compact, safe design Cons: - 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only (not a deal-breaker, but worth noting) 📶 - Requires a Matter-compatible hub for certain platforms Bottom Line: If you’re building or upgrading a smart home, these are a no-brainer. They future-proof your setup with Matter compatibility, work reliably, and cost less than many non-Matter alternatives. Honestly, for the price of one premium smart plug, you can get four of these and have change left for coffee. ☕✨

Works like a charm!
First, do not follow the directions. There is no on off button. I don't care how long you hold that sucker down it isn't going to turn it off! You simply plug it in, then unplug, then plug back in. Alexa finds it lickety split and does the rest for you, easy peasy. Name the device after set up before you exit Alexa to save time. Alexa has gotten smarter and knows the difference between turning the light or lamp on for you. I have two that I did not want on at the same time, hence the difference in names. If you forget to name it, it will default to some random numbers which would be hard to remember. This could not have been easier and it is so convenient. You can set a timer with Alexa for away times or decorations, also

Easy to use smart plug that works with Siri
Works great out of the box. Easy set up with QR codes. Have had these installed for a few months now and not had any issues. I use them with Siri and Apple Home. You are able to fit two on one outlet if needed, which is nice for those who need it. Would buy again if I needed more.

Home Assistant Perfect!
So far, so good with Home Assistant! Used the app on my phone to set these outlets up, added right in, easy-peasy! Definitely recommend for remote controlling automation in Home Assistant.

Works fine, but tricky to setup in corporate environment
Plug works fine. It was a pain to setup on SmartThings in a corporate environment. Unlike some other wifi smart plugs that must reach out to the internet for setup and connection to your ST account. This one uses mDNS multicast discovery to find the hub which works fine if you are on the same network, but if your plug wifi network is different than your ST Hub you will need to add IpHelper policies on your router to help the muticast discovery across networks. It would also have been nice if the devices had their MAC addresses labeled so I didn't have to find those for authorization in log files.

Watch out for the fine print! NOT compatible with Tuya/Smart Life and freezes when internet drops
I bought this Linkind Matter smart plug because the main product description on Amazon claimed it worked with all major platforms (Alexa, Google, Tuya, etc.). My sole intention was to sync it with my wireless 12-sensor home security alarm system in the Tuya Smart app, but it was a massive disappointment. After wasting hours trying to set it up, the app constantly threw a "protocol not supported" error. Upon checking the user manual with a magnifying glass, I discovered a warning in tiny print that explicitly states: "Not compatible with Thread, Zigbee, Tuya, or Smart Life". It is completely misleading to market this as a universally compatible plug when it actively blocks one of the biggest smart home ecosystems available. To make matters worse, if you experience a temporary internet drop at home, the plug completely freezes and goes "offline." It is incapable of reconnecting to the Wi-Fi network automatically unless you happen to have a newer Matter hub (like an Echo Pop) placed right next to it to manage the local signal. If you try to use it with an older Echo Dot (3rd gen), it just drops offline and stays dead after any network glitch. If you are looking for a smart plug to automate advanced security scenes with sensors or alarms within the Tuya ecosystem, DO NOT buy this product. You will end up returning it and looking for a traditional, native Tuya Wi-Fi plug instead to avoid protocol blocks. This plug is only good for manually turning a regular lamp on and off using your voice with newer Alexa devices. A complete waste of time and money for real home automation.

Great product!
Love these. They worked just as described and there's no lag time. All my Alexa devices work perfectly with them and they show up on the Alexa app as well. They are also reasonably priced!
